Rushworth or Wilson (8 Viewers)

What is his transfer value?

I was discussing this at the West Brom away game with a few fans.
I reckon a young English keeper with international potential in the premier league is 20 million plus?

Trafford was 27 million due to a buy back clause.

Less than 15 million is an absolute mugging to my eyes.

He won’t be their number 1 but he’ll have to force the move assuming we go up
His contract is coming towards the end. They either sell him or risk him going for nothing.

We didn't want to sell Hamer or Gyokeres but we didn't really have a choice. They would love to keep Rushworth for the future but Rushworth has had a taste of playing for a side that sees him as very important and is loving it. He wouldn't be our No.2 let alone No.3 like he is with his parent club. They will make a very good profit on him which is what they're very good at.

All round a very good deal for everyone.

He's been brilliant, but I don't think he will be an England regular, his kicking and distribution let him down.
His kicking and distribution is improving and has got us a few goals, the most recent being the one for Wright to slot home from just outside the 6 yard box.

He is very young for a GK and is learning fast. His reaction saves are excellent and he commands his area very well. Sometimes I'm amazed at some of the shots he manages not just to save but also to catch/gather the ball.

The sky is the limit for Rushworth. I'm not saying he will end up being world class, but for his age he has all the attributes needed to go very far. I know it was only Bristol City, but the main difference was the quality of the two GK's. One got his hands to a shot but it trickled over the line. The other saved everything that came his way. It isn't easy to catch the ball at the speed he does but it is routine for him.

Rushworth for England? Only a fool would say he will become England's No.1. But there again only a fool would say he won't. Without him we wouldn't be looking at cruising to promotion to the Prem.

He's easy 20 million
But coming towards the end of his contract and has said out loud he would love to join us permanently. Wouldn't be surprised if something had already been agreed.

His parent club is Prem but he isn't proven in the Prem. The reason a lot of Prem sides including Tottenham are now financially suffering is throwing money around like confetti. GK's don't normally go for big money. My guess would be about £12m with everything considered but that's all it is. A guess. I could be miles out.

There are some right corkers on the first couple of pages.
He's been our most improved player this season by a country mile. He was bloody awful leading into the Leicester away game and that save seemed to serve to kickstart his season. He probably realised that it was going to be make or break for him this year right there. Don't forget that even Lampard commented on his shaky start... He still needs to improve his kicking a lot more but that's improved too.

Couldn’t believe the early season stick he got. Love That Cov Pod but they were questioning whether Wilson should come back in which I found odd. No one questioning it now, absolutely sensational season. His handling is exceptional and he gives the defence so much confidence. Hopefully he goes all the way and with us obviously.

I made a new account , a fresh start shall we say, its a mental thing (Evo1883) dont ask 🙄 but i will mention it so people know going forward as nick is deleting my original username today .

The thing i like about carl the most is his handling , he will Dive and make the save but will keep hold of it , cant recall him parrying the ball all too often either .. the freekick yesterday he took mid air and just held it right down to the floor .. hes so good
Welcome Craig. RIP Evo.

Some players get weird cult followings. It was always going to be a hard ask for a guy to replace Wilson with sections of this fanbase.

I mean the original point wasn’t far off to be fair, every time the ball got close to our box I never felt confident.

I’d put down Rushworth as the priority signing in the summer, up there with the best keeper we’ve had.

😂 no nothing to do with that , im pretty happy with most of my footballing opinions on here , we all have opinions that turn out to be a bit crap.

This is something ive been wanting to do for ages , have asked nick before but didnt go through with it .

I have this compelling need to start a fresh , everywhere (in life)

He was never awful. He just needed more than 2 games to be able to see his qualities.
