Dunno why anyones even bothered about owning the stadium.
Another summer with zero gigs in the stadium bowl, and some nondescript conferences in the exhibition hall
Outside of the football club, the place never has, and never will make money
Not overly concerned about owning itDunno why anyones even bothered about owning the stadium.

Very short sighted mate. How else we gonna be able to afford Binks?Don't want Saudi money anywhere near us.
True but we seem to be ploughing millions on Floodlights , turnstiles and the pitch. Striking a deal for the stadium and all that goes with match day revenue would be ideal but I dream on !Dunno why anyones even bothered about owning the stadium.

Don’t wanna have to watch my club play out of Coventry again. I know it’s silly but by owing it we can at least control our own destiny (or at the very least get a long long lease).Dunno why anyones even bothered about owning the stadium.

More than happy with the way our club is run nowadays anyway tbhDon't want Saudi money anywhere near us.
Comes at a price though roughly £5m a year and Doug can’t afford that foreverMore than happy with the way our club is run nowadays anyway tbh
After where we've come from I don't know why people would want to roll the dice again from where we currently are
V true... I'm just happy as we are until the end of this 5yr plan, which is coming up rapidly tbf!Comes at a price though roughly £5m a year and Doug can’t afford that forever
You don’t want us owned by multi billionaires that would take us straight to the premier league?Don't want Saudi money anywhere near us.
Absolutely the same but having experienced cobblers and Birmingham I refuse to wait to express my concerns and demand answers until it’s too late as a fan base and as an individual who by luck has the opportunity to be quite demanding of an answer at supporters forumsV true... Really fair point! I'm far too naive but I do trust King... Hadn't really considered that he may not do whats best for the club at the end of the 5yrs so definitely should be pushed for answers as time progressesAbsolutely the same but having experienced cobblers and Birmingham I refuse to wait to express my concerns and demand answers until it’s too late as a fan base and as an individual who by luck has the opportunity to be quite demanding of an answer at supporters forums

Championship clubs and at least one team in the Premier League are trying to lure Saudi Arabian billionaire Turki Alalshikh into investment, according to a report.Where has the Saudi rumour come from?
Opening up an old chestnut here, I was certain that when built it was stated that the stadium had been designed to accommodate additional building to increase the capacity, just curious if anybody can confirm or deny this ? I do appreciate we ain’t anywhere near needing it quite yet I must addSounds silly but I’d imagine a Saudi takeover wouldn’t worry too much about the stadium. They'd have the funds to buy it or build a brand new one if they wanted to
I imagine though that shouldn’t be a blocker do you- win win for both parties surely ?We won’t be sellable until the short licence becomes a long lease
Genuinely didnt know thisMan City pay £3 m a year on the lease but get all naming rights monies as part of the deal. So they make a fortune for playing there.
Stadium cost less than ours to build
One week without a game to go toWhere has the Saudi rumour come from?

Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol says clubs are turning to Saudi in a bid to strike it rich and help them win promotion to the Premier League. Alalshikh, with an estimated wealth of $2.8 billion, has a number of business interests and has transformed the sport of boxing by putting on a host of incredible shows in the Middle East.
It's incredible that this has turned into the retained list not being released due to "the takeover".Championship clubs and at least one team in the Premier League are trying to lure Saudi Arabian billionaire Turki Alalshikh into investment, according to a report.

WowIt’s sentimental and that’s it. Across Europe only something like 20% of clubs owns their stadium.
Well one of us is right hahahaI thought it was the opposite? That it wasn't built with a quick fix expansion built in. Should be fairly quick and easy to rip the roof off and build another stand on top of what's already there.
Tbh its a weird direction for the thread and its obviously not going be us, but its probably the kind of owner you need these days to really push on... but i like King anyway, i just know eventually we'll probably need someone with more money, even if he sticks around as a part owner.Sounds like he’d be an absolute nightmare TBH. The sort to make an “incredible show” out of the club isn’t what I’d want. But I guess that’s the game these days if you want long term PL football.
This is absolutely one of the more sensible diversions away from the original thread as opposed to many othersIt's incredible that this has turned into the retained list not being released due to "the takeover".
Tbf the Saudis might want to build the project around howley so it's smart to waitIt's incredible that this has turned into the retained list not being released due to "the takeover".
Well one of us is right hahahaI was convinced that the stand where the fan zone and railway is had been designed so as an upper layer could be fitted but then again I struggle to remember yesterday sometimes so why I expect to recall something from 20 years ago I don’t know !
Think its to do with the roof, like its designed in a way that we can chuck another tier on topI thought it was the opposite? That it wasn't built with a quick fix expansion built in. Should be fairly quick and easy to rip the roof off and build another stand on top of what's already there.
