Nick, care to answer so I am not adding to "same on twist on a thread" ?

It is adding the same twist isn't it. People are getting worked up because city are going price offers on tickets (as they did at the Ricoh) the same as they did about free tickets (the same as they did at the ricoh) and the same as every other club.

I strongly disagree with them moving us but until it is 100% confirmed we won't be back I will support CCFC.

Wasn't much above average back then.

Can't see Ccfc ever getting that many watching every again.

That wasn't the question Nick.

You dont care if tickets are £1 in Northampton as long as we win, but where will you draw the line. If they change the name ?

Well no, if they change the name and move them away full time they wouldn't be Coventry City so I wouldn't support them. At the minute while it is temporary then they are Coventry City so I do support them.

Knocking a few quid off a ticket which all clubs do is a long way from changing the name, isn't it? They are trying marketing, they have been awful at it but when they know it is going to be a very slow pickup on tickets because of the situation AND that it is midweek and cold then they put a special offer on to try and persuade a few people then it is what people do, it is marketing. Have a look on hotukdeals and you will see LOADS of clubs have offers on there.

If only they had taken decent marketing advice with the move, with decent PR / marketing and handling it properly when the move was announced I think they would have a few more at Sixfields.

but they have already stated they ARE moving out of Coventry. They are coming back to the Coventry "area", outside the CCC boundary.

Where we will be is all speculation, if it turns out that it is in Northampton full time then I will give up. If it is going to be a couple of miles outside of the CCC boundary then I am not fussed, it is not like the Ricoh is slap bang in the middle is it? Council Boundaries surely move and change all of the time?

There are parts of Coventry then we would usually class as Coventry that are outside the boundaries of the council aren't there? I am not too fussed about the imaginary line that the council may put down saying it is the boundary, common sense can prevail as it could be half a mile away from the Ricoh and be outside the boundary.

I meant IF they build a stadium outside of the boundaries, note that I say if. Hence I was replying to your post about them coming back to the Coventry "Area".

I'll give you the final word on this one Nick as we are going round in circles. You clearly have a lot more faith in this shower we have as owners than I do. If they are capable of taking us 34 miles away, they are capable of anything.

I totally agree, I am careful to say IF they build a stadium but I can't sit and moan about SISU renaming us Northampton Rejects FC when it hasn't actually happened can I? If it does turn out we will stay in Northampton then you are right, I would give up as they would be permanently gone.

I guess it depends, if by the end of the season there are no plans for a new stadium or even a slight progress then it will look bleak. The season after that if there are no plans even bleaker. Nobody really knows at the minute do they but at the minute it is confirmed as "temporary" by SISU and the league, if that ever changes to permanent then things will be a whole lot different.

We can't always go by "what if's". SISU might liquidate us next week because NOPM has killed them, they might build a stadium, they might go back tail between their legs to ACL and rent the ricoh. We just don't know which is the hardest part but for the minute it is still CCFC that I was brought up to support (allbeit playing in the wrong place) and of course I will want them to win every game whether it is a pre season friendly or a cup final.

If next summer SISU do say "by the way, we are moving the club and never ever coming back" then that is when I would suddenly change to your mindset but at the minute surely you are jumping the gun a bit?

At the minute I think the poker game is still on, things are happening like the Academy going back to the Higgs so there is some talking going on along the lines.

Just read the thread in one go. Can bring up a few posts that used the word if as much as any other.

We are all allowed to put our views forward. But I would prefer facts to truth. And if anyone uses an 'if' against SISU there are certain people that jump straight onto what they have said.

Fair for all is what is wanted by most.

Stafford_SKBlue ......."Thanks for the publicity of this great offer. I will be taking it up."

Therein lies a major part of the problem. One of the Sixfield few - 'getting behind the lads' - with not a thought about the future of the club in his head.

You couldn't make it up.

IT still hasn't sunk in with them, If Fisher thinks he can buy the Fans loyalty with a few quid, what a Twot this clueless, excuse for a football CE is, "Tin Pot Tim" "HOW LOUD DO WE HAVE TO SHOUT IT"... AS far as six fields go.."what you see is what you'll get" or until the bad weather sets in, or we get a few bad results, you didn't take heed of our comments at the Forums, but you're Sure taking heed now!

Without the fans who go there'd be no club to move back... they're heroes.

Just putting it out there. Different position, equally (more) likely to be true. It's an inescapable fact that less income = greater chance of oblivion. That doesn't mean there aren't reasons to decide not to give them income, but it does mean that actually the saviours are the ones who are prepared to contribute towards their salvation...

You make them sound like a West End nightclub owner paying 'insurance' to a gang who will burn their nightclub down unless they pay up.

That very much depends on your end game. Some of us would rather Sisu liquidate than are given the Ricoh for peanuts.

You'd rather the club was liquidated in preference to returning to the Ricoh?

So what you ar saying is your hatred for SISU far outweighs your desire to see the club you support stay in existence?

Each to their own. My hatred for SISU does not override my feelings for my club, and the desire to see them stay in buisness.

Poor literacy or trolling?

I'd rather the club was liquidated that Sisu get the Ricoh at below market value, yes. Why I hear you ask? Does this make me a horrible person that wants the death of our club? No not really, I just think it's the preferable option of the two (and every day it looks more and more like there are only two options).

I hold no allegiance to Otium, Fisher or Seppala. I strongly believe that should she liquidate then the FL will be forced to let a phoenix club in with minimal penalty as it was their doing. If not I'm happy to start in the lower leagues.

I don't want to follow a sport that cares more about business interests than the community it serves. That's my personal decision, I completely understand if you are happy to do anything to keep CCFC as we know it right now alive. But for me that's the line. I expect everyone has one somewhere: would you kill your granny to keep CCFC going? What about a family pet? Would you sleep with Seppala? Everyone has the point where their moral compass goes "nope" and for me it's letting a predatory hedge fund rip off the taxpayers.

If they get the Ricoh through these means, they are no longer my club. I disagree on a fundamental moral and philosophical level with their tactics and I don't want to see them prevail. Like I say, each to their own.

OF course, to take your argument that the legal construct that represents CCFC is "the club" then the club disappeared in the summer when Otium picked the bones. I don't think the FL would let us disappear, and the fact that you do is what Seppala is counting on.

sadly you're not the first poster to say they'd rather see liquidation before sisu get the arena, tbh if they got it for free I couldn't care less as long as Coventry are playing back at home. Blinded by sisu hate, you aren't the first and won't be the last.

Well thank goodness for that, if its my decision that Joy is counting on, it should be easy to sort this whole matter out if we get together over a frappachino.
Have you got her number so I can arrange a date....I have got my Old Spice on already to impress her.
