I'm just looking at if we lose to Hull, you'd assume we'd lose to Citeh and we are potentially in a position that we are adrift.

I personally think we beat Hull and get something at Citeh, but three straight losses could mean disaster for our season.
3 straight defeats would normally be counted as a bad start for anyone.

But we've been given a bastard of a start with both Arsenal and Manchester City away in our 1st 3 games. The 2 sides expected to finish in the top 2 places. It evens out over the season.

Villa lost their 1st game 4-0 against a side not as good as Arsenal. They have Arsenal next. Yet nobody is suggesting they will get relegated so far.

We knew we were up against it with Arsenal away 1st game. Several of us spoke about what would be said after losing to Arsenal. Now it's happening. We were not 14/1 for no reason. We tried climbing Everest wearing shorts, a vest and sandals. We failed. We're better than that but won't be playing one of the best teams in the world every week.

Yeah, all true. I hadn’t considered the our easier home games all come this side of Xmas. I fear if we’re not beyond 15 by Xmas we may well be down.
There will be surprises because we may punish a team less clinical than Arsenal.

Sunderland lost their first away game v Burnley 2-0. The reason they didn’t go down is because they didn’t lose a home game until February.

It’s a pretty similar story with Leeds, solid home form and pinch a few good results away. That’s the blueprint to staying up.

I haven't got that feeling about MAN City.
Although that could change, depends what team turns up on Saturday against Hull.

Hopefully we get to play Manchester City before they get going. Some people don't put enough emphasis on changes at the start of the season.

It's Dynamics for me, we've had it extremely harsh compared to the other two,who did enough to get wins, out of their opponents,so now we have more pressure on us and have to react, throw Sakamoto into the mix for me on the left if necessary but ideally on the right.
Not knee jerk, anyway more pressure to deal with.

We have to understand how the players felt walking out into the Arsenal Stadium knowing we were being watched by a possible 20million people

That’s what they’re paid the big bucks for though. Can’t take a PL wage and complain about the rigours of PL football.

What do we reckon the point target is to stay up 38? 40?
Was higher last year then most but normally 35 would do. Free hits are your arsenal man city etc just need to pick up the odd point away and win more then you lose at home.

I'm not sure fans will last the season here as it's very unlikely to be we are safe until we'll into the new year !

I see Forest have bid 70m for Thiago from Brentford - it's getting ridiculous now
How are promoted teams meant to possibly compete & keep up just with Forests level? Football's getting more & more fucked
Anyone can make a rediculous bid if they know the other club will laugh it away . Forest are a basket case club run by a lunatic

Looking through the fixture list it looks like we’re gonna have to pick up a lot of points early because we end the season with this run of 6 home games:
Bournemouth (27.02)
Man City (13.03)
Arsenal (10.04)
Man Utd (01.05)
Spurs (15.05)
Nott’m Forest (30.05)

So we would need points against Bournemouth and Forest. But we've been in similar situations over the past few years so many times. We're more likely to lose against bournemouth but then beat arsenal. Impossible to predict.

Those villa stats are mental bad jesus 😂 makes me feel slightly better

So playing three shit teams last three games . Not bad

There are probably several Championship teams paying more.

I doubt that TBH. £50k/week is parachute only territory and that’s only cos we basically allow a few PL level clubs into the Champ. Very few players earn that at Champ level long term.

We were about 16th in wages in the Championship our existing squad will have had a pay increase relative to that. West Ham and Wolves will be paying more than us across their squad and I suspect Southampton too. Bowen is on about 150,000 a week at West Ham.

The only club in the Premier League below us in wages will be Hull.

So parachute clubs then as I said?

Turn the CBS into a fortress and there’s nothing to fear from 4 of those games.

Fulham looks defensively as vulnerable as us on Friday. Much more attacking threat though.

Surprised me a little bit with the one touch and shot, but yeah, Sanchez absolute pony.

Not sure if being harsh, but I don't think Leno did well there either. Seemed too quick to rush out, giving an easy ball across when he could have just narrowed the angle closer to his goal
