Match Thread Northampton Town: Friendly (A) - 18th July - 2PM

We are going to need a decent striker for sure and for me we really have to push the boat out to get Rushworth.

Eccles has improved every season. He has a winner mentality and works hard. There is more to come from him and i think he is a benefit to the squad . Lampard rates him as did Robins.

Where would u be adding to the squad outside a new LW a new no.10 a new LB and GK ? A new CB id only countenance if we sell Woolfeden.
Not having a pop at Eccles but when you look at minutes then last 3 seasons he's actually being used less year on year (league only), and was never trusted in his proper position, Grimes, Onyeka and Torp all played ahead of him in the 6/8 role and he ended up covering for Rudoni in the 10.

2023/24 - 44 apps 3,287 mins
2024/25 - 39 app 2,339 mins
2025/26 - 34 apps 1,514 mins

Compare last season with his fellow midfielders
Grimes - 4,126
Torp - 2,323 (missed 4 games through injury)
Onyeka - 1,025 (was only here for last 16 games possible 1440 mins)
Rudoni - 2, 110 (miss 16 games injured)

If we bring in another CM and 10, he's not getting in the squad.

We will sign a GK, CB, LB, CM, AM, LW, ST at the very least. You can bookmark it if you like, I'm happy to come back to the prediction at the end of the window.
I agree with this as what we still need. Whether we get it I’m not sure. Fingers crossed we get the right level of player in to at least give us a chance of survival.

CCFC x (we're a Premier League club)

HT We're level at the break (can't get much more in-depth coverage than that )

So far we’ve got Onyeka, Thchouana and Amenda. There’s no way we sign 7-8 more. Keeper, LB, CM and possibly CF if we can offload 2-3
3 or 4 more players 🤣 Christ

that will take at least 3 transfer windows,I think we should prioritise cb lb striker
We can't rush and we might be suprised at who steps up

CC84 instead of calling our £20m prem players flops instead be grateful we aren’t in l2

Dont u think he is a natural no.6? Thats where i think his best position is and we need to develop him now

I'm not sure you can judge Eccles on last season. He was injured at the start of the season with the weird blood clot injury he sustained against Sunderland.

He didn't make the bench until Norwich in September. And was then trying to break into a team on a fantastic run.
