Yeh about 7 or 8 more. I'm sure we will though, we've started ok compared to the shite that got promoted with us. If we seal Rushworth in next day or 2 I'd say very solid start.
 
Varney & Meredith are both goalies, both under 20.

For me we need a LW to compete with EMC a no 10 to compete with Rudoni and a LB.

I know there are rumours we are in for Tomori and Loftus (i assume he would be used as a 10) but if we get Tomori surely Woolfenden will be sold.

I dont think in light of the above we can be spunking 30m for Rushworth as it takes too much out of the budget. In my view no goalkeeper is worth that who has never played at the highest level.id sort the above positions first then sort the GK position last when we know how much we have left to spend.

I like our midfield. Think Eccles and Torp will make the step up to the PL. Onyeka is PL level as is Grimes. But we still need at least 4 more in

Rudoni probably recovering. Perhaps Brau and Woolfenden are close to moves away.

Dont need that many. Id say a minimum of 4, ideally 5 more.

People underestimate this squad that got us promoted. We dominated the Championship last season and were already better than a few PL sides last season . Its not a fluke to smash a league like we did and had we nkt had that flu bug in the camp in december we woukd have won the league by not far off 20 points.

Signings so far excellent as well. That said Villa so far got the deal of the century. Manzumba is a class signing absolute steal that at 57 million.

I don't underestimate our squad, I think I'm actually kinder than many on here on a lot of them, but I see no world we only sign 4 or 5 more. Its not enough. If you think Eccles is good enough for the Prem I would however suggest you are overestimating, by quite a bit.

Eccles has improved every season. He has a winner mentality and works hard. There is more to come from him and i think he is a benefit to the squad . Lampard rates him as did Robins.

Where would u be adding to the squad outside a new LW a new no.10 a new LB and GK ? A new CB id only countenance if we sell Woolfeden.

Hopefully Lampard does an interview after the game and talks a bit about transfers. Was after a lower league away friendly that we got that famous ‘we still want 10 more’ interview from Robins, no?

We will sign a GK, CB, LB, CM, AM, LW, ST at the very least. You can bookmark it if you like, I'm happy to come back to the prediction at the end of the window.

We desperately need at leadt one, probably two PL quality strikers. One who can play with his back to goal and hold the ball up to give us an outlet, and another with genuine pace who can finish.

Wright, Simms and BTA will do a decent job at Championship level, but if we start the season with those 3 as our strikers, I think we will struggle to score enough goals.

Strikers dont come cheap, so we may only get one, and we obviously need to off load some bodies too.

He rarely discusses transfers so wouldn't be a lot of point

CB CM ST will only happen if one of the current ST CB and CM arw sold.

Woolfenden sold for Tomori id be happy with. Eccles i want to keep. Upgrade on Torp i could see perhaps albeit i think there is a player in Torp so not averse to keeping him.

As for striker no way id be selling any of Wright Simms or Asante Thomas which i know will be something most dont agree with. I think all three will enjoy the PL as they will have a lot more space to run in behind which suits their games more than playing against sides with a low block. Not averse to keeping Bassette either as there might be a decent player in the making .

That said if two of those 4 go then i agree we will obviousky be signing a ST but to get a good ST will cost a fortune.

We still need: GK, CB, LB, LW, AM, ST and probably also CM
 
Last time I was at Sixfields was for the Atkins v Atkinson showcase 😂 … bad day for Oggy… but the Northampton Backroom staff were in Frankie and Bennys for lunch on the next table which included Garry Thompson.. which was a bit of rare fanboy moment for myself…

Wright and Simms i genuinely think can make the step up. Both have pace and shoukd enjoy the higher defences they will be up against. Both had twonof their best gsmes for us against Wolves and Man Utd innthe cup.

Asante Thomas and Bassette may well be off loaded sonwe csn bring in that striker whoncan hold the ball up but as u say it will cost huge money

There's a lot to unpack here and you are entitled to your opinion but yes obviously we sell as well as bring in.

Thinking our strikers are good enough for the Prem, especially even sticking Bassette in there!!! Is slightly mental.

Rating Eccles over Torp is also something I can't get on board with at all.
