I lost my shit a bit at the Ipswich game. Not with Frank or the players but with the ref.
I was saying lots of rude words really rather loudly. I will do this from time-to-time.
I think the occasion got to me…and it’s what I’ve always done/been brought up with at games.
I maintain, in the cold light of day, that the ref was indeed a “twat”.

However, I like to think I continued cheering us on until the end. Any criticism (I’m looking at you Miguel Brau) was saved for quieter conversations with those around me and typing on the internet ie here after the game.

Can’t say that I’ve noticed too much entitlement - although the amount of people regularly leaving early seems to have increased, which may be a sign of this?
I did hear a lot of people complaining about the lack of pressing…daft.

Things do seem a bit quieter than previously but I think there’s another thread that addresses this.
Any audible abuse at Brau on Monday was probably justified...Christ he looked like a competition winner!

Thankfully never needed to follow the actual in match posts, so never read a complete one, but they do look to be hard work and full of armchair views on the occasion I've strayed into them.

How do people at the games keep up with posting in the in match chat? Some definitely do cos I sometimes try and follow it when watching a game on the telly.

For the first time (and last) for the Ipswich Game I didn’t attend the game (first hone missed for years) and I had no ability to see or hear about it either.

My only access was this site. My word, what a soul destroying experience this was. If you’d been beamed down from another planet you’d wonder what was going on. You’d think people are being persecuted and watching a team that’s caused trauma to its viewers.

One thing is for certain. Many will turn on Lampard very quickly and are itching to bring the “elite tactician” headline back. He’d certainly be wise to move if we go up as the screaming to sack him will arrive quickly,

The constant obsession with referee bias is just a turn off. The irony is that most don’t want VAR but the Wright incident may have given the penalty but at full speed many referees would have let it go.

Ipswich will catch us up by end of January, it’s great while it was happening, we need a better manager with greater tactical awareness (than the manager who has the best record in our history), our best striker is shite blah blah

Posters need to reflect. We’ve lost 3 games, we are the team to fear, we have the most successful manager in our history and for me personally it’s the second best season of games I’ve witnessed.

Im not sending out an SOS to kill me but k would if I had to trawl through that again - fortunately I won’t have to

When the day arrives when passionate fans don’t have knee jerk reactions to games - good and bad - then your team has a problem. Comments during and immediately after games often just represent frustration or misplaced optimism. But that’s the fun of the forum isn’t it?

It was a perfect storm according to their fans its the best they played, and according to ours it is the worst we have played.
But to be honest if those goals hadn't of been deflected I believe they wouldnt have scored.
One world class save from Rushworth all the rest were tame or miles off.
Just my opinion of course!!!!

Yep, assuming we go up next season will be awful from a fan-club relationship, I fear. As a fan base we have become deluded and entitled.

I tend to agree on this. They hadn't dominated the 2nd half like they had the 1st and hadn't looked as dangerous. Clarke didn't really connect with his shot and but for the heavy deflection I think Rushworth would have saved it comfortably. Its also a shame Kitching was more intent on holding off an Ipswich attacker rather than keeping his eye on the ball, as I think he was in a position where he might have got to the looping ball to try and clear it.

He's right that people will turn on Lampard next season (if we're promoted, and if as expected we are struggling).

As for the refereeing..... pretty much every club's forum has threads/comments suggesting there is a conspiracy against them.... its pretty pathetic.
