Israel - Palestinian Conflict (15 Viewers)

A stroke of absolute genius by the Israelis.

Strikes don't get much more targetted than that - especially compared to the indiscriminate manner in which Hezbollah/Hamas have been firing rockets into Israel for years now.

If indeed it was the Israelis - bearing in mind the sensitivity of some on here to stereotyping and waiting for concrete evidence to emerge.

Firstly, do you honestly believe it wasn't the Israeli government behind this? If so you're either really stupid, or just trolling. Sorry if that hurts your sensitivities.

Now to help you make a decision on what to call the attack, let's reverse it for a second and say that over a period of months and years, explosive devices were placed in the phones of senior Israeli politicians and soldiers. And then they were triggered by Hamas/Hezbollah/Iranian militias. And as a result of the explosions, innocent civilians, including women and children, were maimed, and killed.

Would you be OK with that, or would you be calling it terrorism? C'mon now, be honest...

Glad Starmer is finally addressing the elephant in the room: the shameful taking of the Gaza sausages. Why is no one talking about this?

They're all as bad. Saw the news last night, an extract from something on the iPlayer, which had mobile phone footage of the 7th Oct attack. Hamas cheering each other on as they murdered civillians. Utterly chilling.

Dunno why people can't just get on with each other, does it really matter who's god you follow.

It’s not really about religion, is it.

Imagine you were Welsh and had been kicked out of Wales so a new state could be created. You would not be chuffed. And then that state expands by taking over neighbouring territory. Simplistic I know, but illustrative.

Fair point, but shouting Allahu Akbar instead of Gerrof My Land sends the wrong message.

The Iranian regime is dedicated to wiping Israel off the map.

I presume they would be offering the Jewish population nice council flats in Isfahan.
Meanwhile Israel IS quietly wiping Palestinians off the map by further and further encroachment and settlement building in places they are legally barred from doing so.

Harrowing.

Hideous. Absolutely hideous. And who wouldn't want the bastards behind it to burn in hell.

But what Israel has done and is doing in Gaza is also horrific, and is a slaughter of innocent men, women, and children on an even larger scale.

One act of terror, no matter how horrific, surely does not justify another even larger one.

Until Israel (or more correctly those at the head of its government) comes to its senses, it cannot claim to be a civilised nation.

Harrowing watch
Important though
I don’t get why gazans can’t watch the documentary and Israelis can’t watch the one from Gaza and then seek some common language of humanity

Now Israel have killed the top bod and most, if not all of his senior people - along with hundreds of innocents- they need to stop. They are taking not being like lambs to the slaughter too far.

Well this thread went very quiet.

Perhaps because the chief apologist for a genocidal, apartheid regime, that has now killed tens of thousands of innocent men, women and children, decided to shut the fuck up for a bit.

I think a little while ago you were asked this: If Hamas or Hezbollah, or Iran had installed explosives in the mobile phones of leading Israeli politicians and military leaders, and then detonated them without regard to civilian casualties, would you class it as terrorism?

You went a bit quiet then as I recall. Strange that.

I wasn't aware of that.

A genocidal, apartheid regime? If the Israelis wanted to commit genocide, they could have done so by October 10th last year.

As for Hamas/Hezbollah being terrorists, their founding statements refer to the obliteration of the Jewish entity and i.e. free access to the Al Aqsa Mosque etc by any means necessary. They hate Jews and normally are the initiators of any aggression whereas the Jews merely respond defensively - the odd pre-emptive strike aside.

So yes, they are terrorists, although attacks on military targets may be considered of a lesser degree.

They've also been made fools of over the last week or so. That said, if a ground invasion does go ahead it will be a blood bath. Problem is, Hezbollah did not adhere to agreed demarcation lines post-2006, so the Israelis will be looking to do the job properly this time.
