I’ve begun avoiding this place after games when we lose. It’s all very predictable. Coming back today has reminded me why.

The rage and venom towards owner, manager, staff, players, each other, is astounding.

I think we all have every right to be disappointed at our start. I think I’m part embarrassed too, as I bet many of you are also, by how poorly we are fairing vs our promoted peers.

It could be tactics, it could be recruitment, it could be your subjective and unique expectations of what was going to happen. Or of course it could be all the above and then some.

I tell you what will not fix it AND what will make it worse, is acting like many of you are. Like someone has murdered your family or personally wronged you in the most unforgivable way.

If you find yourself getting worked up as I know I have, I’d encourage you to give this place a wide berth for a while. If just for your own mental health.

Despite the start I remain confident we come good. Despite football meme accounts and bookies have a laugh at our expense, there are a lot of experienced heads in football being very balanced about our position and still a lot being overlooked.

For one, this is feeling weirdly like the start of Lampards tenure, where he played what was established and chopped and changed a few things and we stumbled through games. I think we find our formula with time.

But whether that’s early enough remains to be seen. For now, I’m going to continue trying to enjoy what I can about the season we all dreamed of, independent of our results, and will do so away from here as much as I can.

Encourage all of you to consider the same.

Till we win again my friends!

It’s a bit like the bad spell we had over Xmas…hopefully we turn it around but we proved we had the players to do it then,,,trying to convince myself that we’ve actually signed some quality players and they just need a bit of time..

Id genuinely be interested to read some of the experienced heads having made positive comments. Could you share some?

I know we have massive problems and in the short term I don't expect things to improve.

But there are still way too many points to play for to write us off just yet. Not saying I expect us to stay up (realistically, I don't, predicted 18th during summer and still think that). The long international break may actually help us for a change though in terms of getting players back from injury and a fresher perspective.

Sooner or later we will get a bit of luck early in a game (e.g. a GK error / a deflected cross which goes in) and it may help some players to regain their composure a bit.

One thing I am convinced will change is that we will attack more effectively down the left than the right hand side this season. DaSilva (or however his name is fucking spelt!), Mfuni and Gboho will cause problems for the opposition, definitely, and I think Rudoni in particular will benefit and score from their crosses.

I think we will lose to Forest tomorrow, but all is not necessarily lost just yet...

I indeed lost my patience after the Villa defeat and came out with some bollocks on here which I regret. I’m not enjoying this season and I’ve walked out of Hull/Brighton/Villa with my piss boiling.

It’s getting humiliated on the global stage that is getting to many of us. Losing to those Vela wankers was the final straw.

I’m going to take a break from posting.

I also think we will turn it around. I was listening to the Glasner pre match interview earlier and his analysis was pretty interesting. He said he looks at performances, not results then gave a very balanced description of our results so far. Said he was expecting a close hard fought game. I know he has to say that but he clearly rates Lampard. It is clearly going to take some time to get it right and start improving. They've done very well to get us into this position. Time to have a bit of faith.

Losing to Aston Villa with 4 of our first choice back 5 missing was the final straw. lol.

I said on another thread no need to panic yet. 4 league games in and we have played 3 of last season top 6 and Hull who we dominated but much like last season couldn't score against. It's an incredibly tough start and people are bedding in still and will improve. A lot of the goals conceeded have been individual mistakes rather than team errors. We have created a fair few good chances and not taken them. We need a bit of luck and the confidence will come back.

90% of people realistically knew it would be a relegation battle all season and that hasn't changed. We might well go down but talk of not getting double figures is ridiculous at this stage.

Nicely put. Weirdly as I’ve got older it affects me far less. I think I’ve got better at realising it’s just a game and a game we’re not even really part of, we’re just the kids watching YouTube of someone else playing call of duty.

If it’s really getting you down outside of the game day bubble then genuinely try and take up some hobbies or see your mates a bit more.

Its not that with me, its just Ive learnt to accept I support a club that's going to have more downs than ups and things are frequently going to go against us.

The last minute play off goal for Sunderland was heart breaking, but months later we embarked on a season to he remembered.

Remember celebrating when we stayed in the Chsmpionship at Leicesters expense, a few years later they won the PL.

It shows that things change quickly in football so when its not going well just got to hope that the corner is about to be turned.

I've earned my stripes back in the 70s , 80s and 90s. Pain comes with being a Cov fan. At least we had a fabulous year last season to celebrate .
Every time you go up a hill you know you're coming down one soon.
I still think we'll turn this round. It's the hope isn't it.

Although right this moment it seems unlikely. If we win today, the whole feeling of the season changes. Suddenly talk of lowest points total, instsnt doom, no fight, long 9 months, it all disappears.

The problem is the win. Tbh id argue a score draw today would do us the world of good

Id take a draw. Think it would be good for morale going into the break.

Actually, I think that DaSilva is one of the easier names this season.
