If you look back I actually said Slade would be sacked by the end of the week in question and he was.
Ricketts was interviewed for the job but Joy of all people wanted Robins.

It couldn't have been "in case it scuppered the deal" because clearly no other club in our league (or even the one below) would be interested in him.
