So we're told that billionaires are leaving in droves and their loss of tax revenue is causing huge problems for the treasury (even though many of them aren't and many are already not paying UK tax) but now all of a sudden it's only a small amount and doesn't matter.
Of course it matters. But instead of hammering these even more we need to look at where its all being spent.
The system is failing and we can all see why.
Blaming the people paying into it isnt the reason.

But as has been pointed out many of them aren't. Or at least certainly not as much as they should given their massive wealth and income.

300 million? You’re a billionaire and you’re leaving the country to avoid paying 300 million. Utter scum bags.

Plus 300 million for a billionaire is a real good way of measuring how much tax the must already be stealing from the state in way of tax avoidance. We’re well rid of the scrounging cunts if you ask me.

Not too sure what to say

Hammering them even more. Literally every other tax payer in the country is paying more tax per every pound earned than these tax dodging scum bags

And therein lies the issue. There aren't enough tax payers any more are there?

Way too many are choosing a life on benefits. The benefit system was set up as a safety net to help people in need not the lifestyle choice its become.

The real issue is that there’s too many billionaires hoarding all the wealth meaning that the equality gap is growing shrinking the middle classes and its the middle classes who historically carry the tax burden, not millionaires and definitely not billionaires.

And its definitely not the 1 in 8 working age adults living on benefits and not working in any way?
Do you genuinely think we as a nation are so sick and ill that one in eight are unable to work in any way?

This is something that’s going up

Unlucky

IMF chief economist Silvana Tenreyro told BBC News on Tuesday that the UK's process of managing its debts is now leading the major G7 economies.

"As you know, the UK has already started the consolidation process and it is the country that basically stands out, along with India", she said.

The organisation said the UK is one of the only major economies on course to stabilise levels of national debt. It projects the UK will reduce its annual borrowing by nearly four percentage points of GDP from 2025 to 2031, significantly more than the rest of the G7, many of which are increasing their deficit over this time period.

The UK is also projected to have the lowest annual borrowing in the G7 in 2031, and the longest maturity of debt, locking in lower rates for longer

You’re quoting made up stats. 1 in 20 aren’t working, 1 in 8 might well be claiming benefits but a large percentage of those are in work benefits. So because of the equality gap working doesn’t pay enough. Which brings me back to my original point about wealth hoarding scum bags. If they paid their workers a decent wage A) they wouldn’t have to claim in work benefits B) we could drastically cut the welfare bill meaning taxes wouldn’t have to be increased. They want it both ways, not pay their workers a decent wage so they have to claim benefits and not pay a fair rate of taxes. They’re scrounging cunts being subsidised by ordinary taxpayers. You pleb up to them if you like.

I mean you could for once in your life just admit you were wrong

wrong about what? You do understand this a forecast from a former BOE economist and that because of our escalating inflation our cost of borrowing is going up to unmanageable levels?

Is the bbc commentary wrong? If you think it’s milk and honey by 2031 that’s up to you. I see a government that’s projected borrowing based on a 2% inflation rate and now it’s escalated to 50% more than that and expected to rise more. A massive black hole in the economy and a chancellor who’s going to make more excuses.

Still produce a link of one persons projection for 2031 and we can all sail off into the sunset. A true mark of hope.

Sorry but you are now sounding like a version of Astute on the football finances angle.

Hahaha classic Grendel. So the word of a former bank of England economist is to be taken as gospel, it's not just 'one person's projection'.

But another prediction - from the IMF's chief economist - is dismissed as just 'one person's projection'.

No not all they are forecasts. The reality though is this;

- a rising inflation rate which is double the projection
- a massive growing black hole which needs addressing with a government committed to not reducing welfare spend
- increasing levels of unemployment with zero solutions to the oroblem
- borrowing at levels far in excess of last years forecast
- the much heralded house building projections miles behind targets
- NHS waiting lists and A and E times back on the rise
- Tax rises in the base rate every year

This is planet reality. I actually couldn’t care less about borrowing if there was a plan for economic growth to even remotely get close to Reeves failed targets

It’s funny as you were constantly saying how better Starmer and Reeves were and how well they were doing. Even the PLP realised they were about as much benefit as a couple of dog turds and scooped them up and chucked them in the bin where they belong for political eternity.

Yesterday:
Probed by LBC's Emma Corr on the Prime Minister's comment, Mr Farage responded: "The Prime Minister is a liar."

"Boris Johnson, when he became Foreign Secretary, one of the first questions he asked was if there was seen to be Russian interference in the referendum campaign. And the answer was no.

"There was no Russian interference. And the Russia hoax has run all the way through this.

Today:
MI5 chief Ken McCallum said today that Moscow did attempt to interfere in the 2016 Brexit referendum with anti-EU coverage on RT and Sputnik media and via troll social media accounts. But there was a big difference between “what may have been attempted and what actually resulted”, he added.

The head of the Security Service said that he agreed strongly with what the prime minister had said on Sunday and Monday, when he raised the issue of attempted Russian interference a decade ago....

I can only assume Farage will be public ally apologising at some point today....

Barclays forecasts unemployment to hit 2m which will not have been factored into the BoE or government forecasts.

The NI hike on employers is an accelerant to business fast tracking AI/automation solutions for this cost.

Isn’t that forecast based on a slowdown of the economy though which isn’t being forecast to slow down. Sounds more like a hypothetical scenario than a forecast.

Its 1.8 million now and the economy is growing nowhere near Reeves projections

The job market is in a terrible place. Not that I’m looking, but my job alerts on LinkedIn have been declining steadily for 2-3 years but it’s dried up massively this year.

No, it’s a forecast based on businesses cutting jobs. Amazon, JLR, Royal Mail, BBC have all announced first rounds of job cuts.

Longer term, since the NI hike, it’s only the public sector payroll that’s had growth where it tends to not apply. Private sector payrolls have been adjusting to the new realities as the extra tax bills can be massive.

Did you get your figures from the Diane Abbot or the Rachel Reeves school of statistics?

1 in 20 working age people not working, Really?

According to DWP figures approximately 6.7 million adults are claiming unemployment benefit or are unable to work due to sickness/disability and claiming benefits.

By your calculations we therefore have 134 million working age adults in the UK.

I suggest that you get in touch with Andy Burnham. Theres a place on his front bench waiting for you.

Try 1.6 million, you’re quoting made up statistics again.

Reeves? I’m talking about the IMF long range forecast announced this week, why are talking about someone who isn’t even in the cabinet? The IMF has said (amongst other positives) we’re coping with Trump’s war with Iraq better than expected and better than other G7 countries, they’ve upgraded their growth predictions for the UK and also predicting that the UK will have the lowest borrowing costs of all G7 countries by 2031. The Barclays forecast is based upon assumptions we’ll see decline. The IMF doesn’t seem to share that view.
