Someone needs to develop and convincingly present / promote an alternative vision without making those who need to change their stance feel that they are being patronise or having the wool pulled over their eyes. Starmer hasn’t got the oratory or commitment to do it. The persuasion skills or rhetoric in reality and every week that goes without some significant impact on the boat gangs him and his team are in a less convincing position.
We don’t agree on much but I think we do on this. The current government don’t seem capable of telling their story, regardless of what they’ve achieved (or, indeed in your view, not achieved).
The only issue is that people seem to feel expertise is elitist nonsense. I really don’t see how you persuade people who don’t want to be persuaded and won’t have it that someone knows more about a subject than them.
