Someone needs to develop and convincingly present / promote an alternative vision without making those who need to change their stance feel that they are being patronise or having the wool pulled over their eyes. Starmer hasn’t got the oratory or commitment to do it. The persuasion skills or rhetoric in reality and every week that goes without some significant impact on the boat gangs him and his team are in a less convincing position.
I think the main fiscal targets will be DEI and Climate expenditures. They may or may not make any difference and the unions will probably want to fuck them up.lick to see how reform cop emptying bins lol when they want to gut council spending
I’m not sure that the only issue is expertise being seen as elitist nonsense, an equal issue is surely the opposite view. I.e. th uneducated are neanderthals who adopt a right wing and racist philosophy to explain issues which concern them but seem beyond their ken to resolve. We don’t agree on much but I think we do on this. The current government don’t seem capable of telling their story, regardless of what they’ve achieved (or, indeed in your view, not achieved).
The only issue is that people seem to feel expertise is elitist nonsense. I really don’t see how you persuade people who don’t want to be persuaded and won’t have it that someone knows more about a subject than them.

Those priorities sound like personal wants and not necessarily priorities to address the concerns of the right wing “knuckle draggers”.

I'd give up the remote mind reading young man you are shit at it. I got my clues from a statement Farage made earlier today. Those priorities sound like personal wants and not necessarily priorities to address the concerns of the right wing “knuckle draggers”.

Why should I? I have no influence on what happens. Weird.EDI. We’re in the UK. If you’re going to import US politics at least translate it.
And the fact you haven’t even bothered to google what the impact of the policy you support is says it all. The impact, not that you care because this is about virtue signalling, ranges from 0% to 0.02% of council budgets. Just a fundamentally unserious policy. He should go back to demanding taxi drivers wear hats.
So he’s just parroting Trump and Americanisms. How patriotic.I'd give up the remote mind reading young man you are shit at it. I got my clues from a statement Farage made earlier today.
How’s you?The use of the word “charismatic” decimates UK left wing politicians from potential candidates for such a role.
You really don't help yourself do you?Typical left!
You can't call me a hurty name but you're a racist, bigot, stupid, thick, uneducated!
Whether you like Donald Trump or not, to sit on a football forum and call him a "not very bright person" is fucking hilarious! He's a fucking billionaire businessman. Not sure many stoopid people manage to make $5b+ in business do they?

As part of the agreement, the UK and India will strike a double contribution convention under which Indian workers temporarily living in the UK will not have to pay national insurance contributions for three years. The same applies to British workers in India, and meets a key demand by Delhi.
I think there is a lot to be said about outsourcing a lot of our business there as its cheaper too...We seem to always get proper shitty deals with India. All their citizens can vote here but we can vote there either. All their commonwealth stuff needs forgetting now, they should be treated as any other country.
I just wish they would direct their justified ire at the right people.
It’s not the fault of economic migrants or asylum seekers - it’s the fault of those that run our country and believe that profit is more valuable than any other measure of human activity.
There’s nothing more unpatriotic than stripping a country bare in the pursuit of hoarding money.
Is it really right wing….I saw a great little ditty somewhere the other day that said I’m not far right, I’m just a concerned Grand parentI agree with you, but unfortunately when nobody seems to want to step up and do anything about it desperation sets in .
Let's be real here left right centre who cares , immigration levels are unsustainable at the moment arent they ? Towns have completely changed haven't they ?
British people are watching migrants get houses before them arent they ?
The national health is struggling isnt it ?
All of these things are creating this rise in right wing populism and if people cant see it then I dont know what to say .
This isnt migration to fill job roles is it , which would be fine , its a free for all
There is ofcourse a difference between right wing and far right , its not far right to have concerns about immigration levels ... its been one of the top concerns of the general public for as long as I can rememberIs it really right wing….I saw a great little ditty somewhere the other day that said I’m not far right, I’m just a concerned Grand parent
I think what you say is absolutely true. I have mentioned before in this forum that when you try and palm off legitimate concerns you get a reaction of ‘fuck it what is the worst that can happen’ - Reform now run my local council (North Northamptonshire) so let’s see what they are going to do. Not sure the ‘stop the boats’ mantra will have much of an effect on this part of the world unless I’ve missed a huge Albanian contingent sailing up the Nene on narrow boats, so they had to now deliver for the people that put them into office.I agree with you, but unfortunately when nobody seems to want to step up and do anything about it desperation sets in .

Industries were ripped out of various heartlands, not replaced with anything, and the far right seized their opportunity. It took the pride and prosperity out of vast swathes of the country, our city is a great example.I think what you say is absolutely true. What I will say, not necessarily as a counter point, is that stopping immigration won’t make my utilities cheaper, or pay a decent wage. It won’t make it more affordable for my kids to go to Uni or get on the housing market. These are just as important issues in the gradual decline in our country. I want to hear what political parties are going to about these things, and not just the immigration rhetoric that floods the news.

Yeah I’m sure the stories of him going to a private school and actually not really liking pints and it’s all for show are just stories planted by the woke mainstream media to discredit our Nige.
Dog whistle politicsI can confirm that Nigel does like a pint, having partaken with him on several occasions.
I’ve had several one on one convo’s with him and can say that the bloke is very clued up geopolitically, has a good grasp of economics, history, law, social diversity etc. To call him stupid or racist or a charlatan is quite ridiculous.
I’ve met and debated and swapped ideas with countless Labour MP’s and MEP’s - never met one with a clue about anything. All of them identikit clowns with a chip on their shoulder
I’m a Tory. To be honest there’s not much gravitas in our ranks atm. I’ve met Kemi, indeed I endorsed her to be leader. She’s not cutting through yet. Penny M would have been a good leader as too would Miriam Cates, but alas both out of office now.
Nigel connects far better and makes them all like 6th form debate participants. Unfortunately.
To be fair, I got on well with Clegg, decent bloke who was more suited to the Tories at the time.
These people who go slegging Farage without knowing any real facts about the guy are a bit sad.

The whole pint drinking thing in public for those easily taken in.What a pathetic name drop that was
The whole pint drinking thing in public for those easily taken in.
Nigel Farage drinks beer ‘to be seen with it’ and actually ‘prefers wine’
NIGEL FARAGE has been accused of faking his well-publicised love of beer to appear a “Man of the people”.www.dailystar.co.uk

To be fair, he did like a beer and a curry with his staff during lockdown. Was that worse than Boris having a bit of birthday cake?
No, it was making poor quality cars mostlyVarious heartlands?
Let’s talk about the Coventry car industry - it’s poignant to this forum I suppose.
Was it opposing immigration that destroyed that or Labour backed unions and the politics of envy and entitlement coupled with EU law restricting protectionist measures and allowing manufacture to be taken to other EU nations where competition rules were broken (PSA)?
Or was it “dimwits” that didn’t get themselves into mega-debt studying pointless degrees at universities who now feel a sense of injustice at people who have contributed nothing getting what they see to be preferential treatment?
I didn’t write the script, I’m just reading the audience.
