Still papering over the fact we can’t score goals. Like others have said, good result but not a great performance. We should be dispatching teams like that by 2 or 3 goals. Sets up the Wycombe game nicely though next week, but I fear we may struggle to score against their solid defence.

Obviously I'm pleased with the win, I'm really concerned about how little we create for our striker when we play a lone striker.
At this point you could put Harry Kane there and he'd struggle

Wycombe game may be interesting because we're away but with no Boxing Day game we should have much fresher legs. Would be great if we could get our first away league win this season there - really don't want to still be waiting for that into the New yr.

Akinfenwa sent off today. Will he play against us?

Thought we deserved to win, still not sure about our forward play but not sure how we improve it, Godden did okay with two or three decent attempts but I still feel we need to be better up top.

I’ll take that. We really need to find a way of cutting through and putting the game out of reach when we dominate, if just for my blood pressure.

Didn’t think we ever looked troubled, Shipley was good. Still not convinced by Godden.

As much as I enjoy the passing game we play, it would be really nice to see us score a few bloody goals. Better today though I thought for actually having a shot, although we were still a little guilty at times of not wanting to shoot.

Whilst we won, cannot help feeling that Lincoln won the argument.

Our play reflects our managers thinking, negative/conservative

What was the arugement that they won ?

I know it’s not all about the result, but we were the better team, over 90 mins in a neutral venue.

Seems we can’t even be happy at a 1-0 win now.

Very little mention about another good defensive display, clean sheet and mcfaz performance despite calls for pask to replace him.

Pleased to get the points, felt like it was harder than it should have been. I like Robins but he needs to use the strong bench he has.

Put Sky Sports 1 on. Man City playing one striker.

Wonder if their fans are throwing a hissy fit. Only two in the box for a cross then too. Pep out!

Far more clinical strikers. And when they get that first goal they don't just defend it - they carry on playing the way they were.

With one striker they create chances and goals. We pass out with shock if two players are in the box in an open play attack.

2 points off autos on Xmas day.

Haters gone hate (hate hate), but I’m delighted with that.

Merry Xmas all

It's not haters is it?
I didn't turn up at St.Andrews today because I'm a hater FFS.
But the issues that have been discussed weren't put to bed today.
We need to start finishing teams off, we can't get by on single goal margins, it didn't work last season and it won't work this one.
We can't stick rigidly to plan A when the game is screaming for plan B.
We were desperate for fresh legs in midfield from 65-70 minutes but he left Shipley and Westbrooke in there when the game was passing them both by.
It takes a lot for me to start criticising a manager and I want Robins here for the long haul but I can't say it enough, the issues we have at the moment are the exact same ones we had this time last year.

Lone striker? We had 3 up front according to some roasters!

Yes I get they are more clinical and obviously on a different planet to us.

My point is that just because a lineup has one out and out striker, does not mean you are playing one up front.

But we are. Plus Man City at times are almost playing attack v defence so the entire team has pushed up and the midfielders play far closer to the strikers than we do most of the time.

And I was thinking to myself that was too obvious and juvenile. Should have known there is no such thing ;)
