I feared the worst when I saw it was an unchanged team for some reason. Yes we played well at Man City, but we shouldn't have lined up the same today. Even if he'd kept the same formation, why not Hamer for Oneyka who can offer more going forward.
On the plus side Rudoni looked lively today, JDS was again very good.
MVE is struggling. Bobby had one of those bad days. This Amenda fella. He might be big, but looks slow and passive to me.

Today was a shocker, no two ways about it. The 5 at the back left the midfield completely outnumbered. Grimes is only good in possession and if we’re playing 5 at the back we’re acknowledging surrendering possession so i’m not sure why he was still playing. He is way way too slow to be a hustling, hassling midfielder and it stitched him up completely asking him to do it.

The fact we didnt change from a back 5 the entire game when it was clearly leading to us not offering enough up front and getting overrun in midfield is baffling.

Thomas (other than the penalty) was by far the stand out of the CBs, Rudoni the stand out attackers and Da Silva continues to do his job better than anyone else is doing theirs.

The club have got to decide what they want this year to be, although i fear they already did by buying prospects and not just able prem experience.

EMC is not up to the level, Gboho should be starting ahead of him.
Rudoni out wide is an experiment we already know doesn't work, Tchaouna should be starting there.

Do those changes materially affect the outcome today? Probably not, but it gives you a better chance.

The bigger concern to me is the amount of time we have had to prepare for this season compared to the other two, to just look like we don't know what the plan is.

Exactly… I got so much shit for saying we’ve wasted money.. hull finished 22 points behind us last season and Ipswich finished 11.wer’e miles behind both of them and spent 120 million plus

Ipswich are one cycle ahead of us as they went up previously. There is an argument that we should be competing with Hull at least.

That’s what I said in the summer… we’ve signed players with one eye on next season…go down and we can sell a couple to keep us competitive next season..come back up and we’ll be in a better position to stay up than we are now. Only issue I’ve got is over 120 million spent and we’re still playing 7/8 from last season. Time for sentiment to go and start picking our best 11… Dan silva. Grimes and EMC aren’t at the level

Yup. I would say as well, some of the chances we had at 0-0 and 0-1 would have been converted by them, you could definitely say the same at Man City.

The scoreline doesn't really bother me too much, the red card followed by a penalty 3 minutes later meant we were likely on a hiding to nothing from there, what bothers me is a lack of coherent play, players we thought might struggle to step up are indeed struggling to step up, couple that with buying inexperienced players and we look like the leagues whipping boys, let's hope Lampard and his staff can find a way forward, I feel we have to integrate the new players ASAP and inject some pace into our play, the ball just doesn't move quick enough to trouble our opponents.

I’ve calmed down a bit since the match thread but there comes a point where you’ve got to show the same ruthlessness with the manager you’re asking the manager to have with his players. Not sure we’re there yet but we are heading there pretty quickly IMO.

You'll never convince me that pulling the trigger on managers at the first sign of trouble is the way to go based on past experience.

I think fitness and physcality are individual traits to players. We are playing players who are used to championship physcality and hoping they can adapt, rather than admitting thye may never get there.

Yeah. Never said that. And I don’t know if you’ve noticed but he’s delivered that start to a season in the PL playing Arsenal and Man City. You’ve never been a fan of his so not surprising it’s taken only 4 games until you want to push the eject button. Who are you targeting to replace? Thorn? Slade? Boothroyd? Coleman? Etc etc
