Match Thread Coventry City at Crawley Town Match Thread - Saturday 14th Apr

[Nick]

It's a 4-2-3-1 so far with Ponti and JCH swapping between the right of the 3 and the 1. I'm guessing this was Robins preferred formation for the season but it's an odd time to bust it out with 5 games left.

It's very strange against good full backs too.

[ccfcway]

Vast improvement needed if Robins wants to keep his job for next season.

you not happy we are drawing away from home ?

[Nick]

you not happy we are drawing away from home ?

Not if we want to get promotion.

Bayliss does well after a poor pass from McDonald, wins the ball back under pressure and tries to find McNulty but he’s offside

Their player should have been booked for the trip too.

sorry, didn't realise it was decided today. We have 3 home games left out of 4 after this, a point today would be a decent result

[Nick]

We need to be on their players and keeper instantly, put them under pressure

[hill83]

you not happy we are drawing away from home ?

No

We need to start winning games again.

Another woeful delivery from kelly on a wet piece

And another!

Heard it all season, we need to win games to cement a play off place

[ccfcway]

Newport 2 up v Swindon

[lifeskyblue]

Swindon now 2 down and Luton losing

It's embarrassing, just aimless, no threat

Well there are 3 possibilities. We win and Robins is a genius, we draw and people will be annoyed by the formation/personnel changes or we lose and Robins head will paraded around SBT on a pike for 24 hours.

sounds nasty

We would probably need to beat Lincoln though as I said before. Mansfield have a better goal difference, so a draw today and a draw against Lincoln wouldn't be enough.

Obviously, Stevenage is sandwiched inbteween, but Mansfield have Port Vale at home the same weekend.

I'm not happy with the seemingly lack of thought for decisions not only regarding formation and line ups, but substitutions and in game decisions. Hasn't addressed the lack of pace or goals in the side. If we don't make the playoffs this year, he needs to go.

[covcity4life]

Actually thnk we have done well to take control of this gsme bsck. Just need better in final third espexially fom both strikers

speaking of heard it all season..

True. Will be 4 games without a win if we draw today.

Hardly play-off form.

We only have one, not sure what they are expected to do.

I agree. I think we are well in the game

[Nick]

speaking of heard it all season..

Yeah exactly, meanwhile you have been sat on the fence with splinters in your arse strangely not actually mentioning anything that happens in a game.

It's been the same all season.

[chiefdave]

Why aren’t we pressing their keeper? He is taking way too long on the ball, put him under pressure.

[hill83]

not actually mentioning anything that happens in a game.

We are drawing away from home

That's just mean

entitled to your opinion. good news for you is you might only have 4.5 games left of this "lack of thought" and them you can start thinking about who we want next to start again

[sw88]

Kelly with a great chance to play in mcnulty, instead takes a poor shot at goal

[Nick]

Same as their defenders.

They are pressing us as soon as we get it

[Nick]

As soft as his crosses

[ccfcway]

er...

I agree. I think we are well in the game

sorry I am not critising every corner or freekick

[Sky]

This commentary is atrocious.. no idea whats going on, which team is attacking, if its actually a threat or not.

[Nick]

er...

That's not mentioning what's happening in the game is it?

[sw88]

We’ve nothing in front of either Grimmer or Haynes meaning neither of them can get to the byline and are having to rush their crosses! Most have been wasteful

[covcity4life]

Kelly has had a few tame shots this season when in on goal. Just leather it!

Still we are sopping them doing anything of note and crearing chanxes. We can win this one

[Nick]

We have no urgency or tempo. It's half hearted. Like a friendly in Spanish heat
