When we were playing 3-4-1-2? I don't think so. Sakamoto was brought in as a RWB who can slot in at AM. Which is why after Sakamoto gets injured post-PNE, we play 3-4-1-2 again quite few times.

The recruitment issues haven't moved on from when we played that formation because we don't have numbers out wide.
By the time Robins bought Bassette in we were fully a 433 side.

So the idea that he is suddenly going to play Bassette over Simms is wierd.
Think there's probably something in the fact he's hit 99 appearances and then not played a minute of competitive football. Guess we'll see tomorrow. Will probably be BTA anyway rather than Bassette.

Neither Brighton nor Swansea thought much of Gykores - and he wasn’t great when he first came to us - so it will be interesting to see how Bassette’s career turns out.

I hope we take a good sell-on percentage just in case he ends up going to Manchester City for £100 million in a couple of years.

Which is why you can see people putting two and two together and potentially making five.

Wright injured in the PO's and he doesn't get a minute. Then plays quite frequently in pre-season, evens scores in our last friendly then spends the compeititive fixture afterwards sat on the bench, doesn't come on despite us needing a goal and a not fit Haji Wright is brought on ahead of him.

I guess the question does then become "why is he even on the bench then?" but that could be so the opposition think he might play or even just to prevent the even bigger conspiracy theory if he's left out altogether.

If he doesn't feature on the pitch tomorrow then you really can see these rumours becoming louder.

It's not a massive fee for a development player. I'm sure they thought they could develop him into something more when he was signed. He's still only 19, so potential for a good career for him whether here or somewhere else.
It’s a massive fee for a player who’s currently fifth in the pecking order behind a youth team player who spent last season at Grimsby Town.

Developing players is great, but you don’t spend £2 million on a player who’s not going to contribute at all for a couple of years.

Shame as I think he’s got some ability but if his attitude is that bad he can even make the bench for this then there’s a big problem. That or there’s a deal lined up and we don’t want to risk injury

Enobakhare.

We had to sack him.

Stark contrast in his first stint compared to Bassette. Bassette’s attitude is enough to keep him out because there’s no good ability. Enobakhare was first name on the sheet despite his lax attitude towards training and ego. Dragged us up the table.

hes prob just been bombed out for a bit until (apparently quite rightly) earns his place in the squad. hes 20, cut him some slack.
Yeah tonight was the first time it’s genuinely a surprise he wasn’t in the squad. Last chance saloon. We should just loan him out if there’s interest.

He’s supposedly one of our top 20 or so most expensive signings of all time, why should we cut him slack for not being up to scratch for a game against L1 opposition in the cup? We should just cut him from the squad altogether.

cause hes 20. we paid a couple of million for the potential.
Hes was (or at least was las season) very eager, had an ego, and willing to run himself ragged constantly.
sure he made mistakes, but hes raw.
Support the lad, encourage him, one day we could sell him for £30m +

Bassette started against Swansea in the league. I doubt he personally would have asked for him because that's mental, there's no way he'd have known about him, but he definitely had final say on pulling the trigger.

Why definitely?

Hopefully we can negotiate some sort of mutual termination agreement. Can’t see it with his attitude though
i dont get all this attitude stuff, we know nothing thats going on behind the scenes, lampard sugguested things, but still, i think the context isnt fully there.

mutual termination? what because hes not scored 10 goals in his first season at the club as a 20 yr old?
absolutely ridiculous.
