When we were playing 3-4-1-2? I don't think so. Sakamoto was brought in as a RWB who can slot in at AM. Which is why after Sakamoto gets injured post-PNE, we play 3-4-1-2 again quite few times.

The recruitment issues haven't moved on from when we played that formation because we don't have numbers out wide.
By the time Robins bought Bassette in we were fully a 433 side.

So the idea that he is suddenly going to play Bassette over Simms is wierd.
Think there's probably something in the fact he's hit 99 appearances and then not played a minute of competitive football. Guess we'll see tomorrow. Will probably be BTA anyway rather than Bassette.

Neither Brighton nor Swansea thought much of Gykores - and he wasn’t great when he first came to us - so it will be interesting to see how Bassette’s career turns out.

I hope we take a good sell-on percentage just in case he ends up going to Manchester City for £100 million in a couple of years.

Which is why you can see people putting two and two together and potentially making five.

Wright injured in the PO's and he doesn't get a minute. Then plays quite frequently in pre-season, evens scores in our last friendly then spends the compeititive fixture afterwards sat on the bench, doesn't come on despite us needing a goal and a not fit Haji Wright is brought on ahead of him.

I guess the question does then become "why is he even on the bench then?" but that could be so the opposition think he might play or even just to prevent the even bigger conspiracy theory if he's left out altogether.

If he doesn't feature on the pitch tomorrow then you really can see these rumours becoming louder.

It's not a massive fee for a development player. I'm sure they thought they could develop him into something more when he was signed. He's still only 19, so potential for a good career for him whether here or somewhere else.
It’s a massive fee for a player who’s currently fifth in the pecking order behind a youth team player who spent last season at Grimsby Town.

Developing players is great, but you don’t spend £2 million on a player who’s not going to contribute at all for a couple of years.
