How many goals has Bassette scored out on loan? Im sure i saw that he hardly played, nevermind scored. Surely him coming back is a non starter

Thats great...but all that will mean nothing if we dont spend and spend well in this window.

Don't agree it will mean nothing because, you know, we've had two good seasons before this one with some great memories and have a ground that's full every home game as a result. Putting that to one side, to brand the folks running the club as 'pathetic' because we haven't signed a bunch of players by Jan 4th is just entitled bullshit*t.

We need experience, and if Doug King doesn't like loanees then he is not the businessman I thought he was. You don't discount anything if it means the business can move forward and at present we do not need a wizzkid from abroad who takes months to adjust to the culture, let alone the league. We need two or three old heads who can bolster our defence and midfield, players like Fadz and Cole, even if they demand breaking the pay structure do it as they won't command a huge transfer fee. As well as that bring in Esse from Palace as well, he will hit the ground running and supply the forwards. Hopefully, Asante will be back soon so he is like another signing.

I think if you think we need 2 or 3 in, youre deluded. Id say 5. Maybe 6. We were 2-3 short in the summer. That had a knock on effect. I think we're now 5-6.

Personally I think:
LB cover better than Bidwell/Brau would be nice but not essential.
CM
ACM/No10
LW
RW both not necessary if we could find someone that can cover both sides maybe.
ST. A different option to Wright and Simms. Somebody quick. Bit of pace. Adam Armstrong type striker.

So 4. 6 if Doug is feeling generous.

That's probably too many. You have to integrate them and come the summer, may need to replace them with better players.

Dan Neil is surely a red herring. We will only want him on a short term deal. Sunderland will want a transfer fee as he’s out of contract in 6 months. He will likely be expecting a juicy contract as transfer fee will be lower than normal. Bit risky on his side to accept a short term deal from us. In any case, they won’t release him early as he’s currently squad backup while first teamers are at Afcon.

Esse would be a good signing, but we need 3 more. Need some fresh faces to bring some energy to the group. We look sorry for ourselves and need a spark to lift the load, being chased looks like a burden we dont want
