Rizespor Coach Recep Uçar: "Rak-Sakyi's contract had a recall option for Crystal Palace, and they exercised it. But right now, there's nothing clear; it will become clear in 1-2 days."

He is ok and no better than that, you are taking great from a very low base he is better than he was that is all , he rarely crosses the ball and is one of the worst for passing it backwards.

He ranks in the 98th percentile for progressive passes, 95th percentile for passes into the final third and 88th percentile for passes into the penalty area.

Fuck it then. We only need 1 signing. But, he needs, as a minimum, to be, better in goal than Dovin, can cover RB (so needs to be as quick as MVE) cover LB, cover CH, so as good in the air as Bobby, CM, so has got to be able to pick the ball up from the defence and split the opposition with 1 pass. Has to have the trickery of Saka to cover the RW, the energy of BTA to cover 10/Stiker/LW=RW as and when needed. And the goals return of Vik in case he's needed to play up top.
I think his CV should also have some managerial experience on it as i can see FL losing it with all the pens we're being denied so I can see a 3 match ban for him coming up so if he could cover that roll too.
A bit of scouting wouldn't go a miss so he can cover Dean Austin from time to time.
And unless he has ownership experience to cover dougs skiing trips he's not the man!
Might be helpful if he can do a bit of physio work so he can work on his own calf injury that he'll pick up from doing all these rolls. And at half time, rather than team talks and refreshments, he's on the pitch with a fork filling holes.

He doesnt need to do much, but youre right, all we need is ONE SIGNING! Job done!

Welcome home Callum Wilson
When we were touted as an option in the summer a lot of people close to CW said he didn’t want to come back to Cov for personal reasons, I wouldn’t imagine much has changed.

Perhaps the personal reasons were that many said his legs had gone and he wanted too much in wages

He’s walking like a penguin
All zipped up tight
He thinks that he’s an ITK
But he’s got nothing to back it up
It’s a lie, which only exists in his mind
Gimme the signing

Genuinely, as it stands, if I were a PL manager with a young, talented winger I wanted to loan out, would Coventry right now, be the best place?

6-8 weeks ago, 100%. Fast, attacking, scoring goals for fun. Its definitely where im sending my loan players.

Now? Are they likely to batter his confidence? Send his progression backwards? Downward trajectory. 18th in the form table. Defending like garbage. As shown by Woolf and KKH Lampard will pick his favourites regardless of form so are they likely to get minutes ahead of a tired and out of form player?

Wrexham however are stupid enough to pay his full wage, not just a % of it, and are on an upward trajectory. I might send young [insert name here] there instead.

The wages isn’t really a personal matter, footballers in a career sense have a very short lifespan I have no issue with someone to get the most financial gain from that career.

To be fair he wouldn't actually have to live in Cov. He wouldn't have to move back to Holbrooks

And the reward side? If he stays fit?

The IF is too big, that's the point.

It's also, from the player's perspective, a huge career risk. If you drop from the Prem to the Championship in your 30s, and the team you're with does not keep you, the likelihood is that your market of prospective clubs becomes just those in the Championship.

It's really easy to bring players in.
It is bringing in the players you really want that is harder. Because more than one club will be trying to sign the good players.

Also you could have a deal agreed, but it might be pending the other club landing one of their targets.

All mangers want business done early in the window whether summer or January. Plenty of managers have gone on record as saying agents and players drag things out.

Our high league position might complicate it. Some players might think, okay I'll get game time off the bench but I want to be first choice what are my other options.

Players are motivated by what they think is best for them and not what is best for Coventry City and it's fans, especially in a short term deal. For instance if I go to Coventry and they get promoted they won't want me next year. But if I to that club and do well they might offer me a long term contract in the summer.

Clubs complicate it as well by let's explore options with him, as back up in case this other deal we are working on fails.

You can't blame players for taking their time and exploring their options. They are not obliged to take the first offer put in front of their nose.

So far this window (as of 15.15 hours
on 5th January) four players have joined Championship clubs and two of those were unattached players. One of the unattached players has been training with the club he joined for two months.

People need to calm down.

Id definitely get the 2 wide lads if we can, Esse can move across the 3 positions, Rak can play RW and EMC can also go into the middle. The more pace and quality we have the better, id prefer to look down a bench and see Tatsu, Rak or Esse other than Bidwell, Brau and Andrews.

Im not bothered they play on the same side for the exact reason why I wasn't bothered or thought KKH was the end of Milan. We need energy and players that will stretch teams. Look at whats happened since losing BTA, teams just wait on us to open up as they don't fear us in space.
