100%

Just missing the feeling stuff was happening. I know it is based on the info we get at times but just doesn’t feel like it
I mean who doesn’t love transfer rumours? But the deals nobody saw coming always interest me more than the ones that were being leaked on fan forums weeks in advance.

Will be annoyed if we don’t sign anyone till late on.

Birmingham had Wagner in and playing (and contributing to the result).

If we don’t sign a player till the 31 that’s 5 games they’ll miss compared to an early signing. 10% of the season.

Yeah but think of the £20k saved. Plus if we drop into the playoffs that’s three more games 🤑

Would have thought we'd have had people lined up ready to go as soon as the window opened. We've got to be an attractive proposition right now. How often do players get a chance to come to a side leading the league with a realistic prospect of getting decent minutes?

Similarly with the top loan players, surely we should be at the front of the queue for a change.

The longer we go through the window without bringing players in the more nervous I become, don't want to be scratching around for anyone we can find when the window is about to close.

It involves our owner actually spending money out of his own pocket, something which he doesn’t like to do. And also he’s so arrogant he thinks we’re better than loans

Not that anybody asked but I'd say 3-4 would be the ideal number. Both RW and LW are essential, Sakamoto in particular needs competition and sometimes generally a player just isn't effective against certain teams, need options to mix things up and change the game (something Leeds were able to do last year). CM, controversial but we need support in the middle, when our fitness levels were up at the start of the season we were able to control games, defend solidly and create chances, yet since our illness bug we've been struggling to maintain. I'd be open to a more Matusiwa, Ampadu character who could offer a touch more dominance in the middle. I know the criticism is high on the defenders and attackers at the moment but lets not forget that pre illness bug we were one of the best defences and the best attack in the league, we should see an improvement with a couple weeks off before Leicester. We should be looking at players that add something different vs having a rebuild mid season. That said I don't think any team would turn down Piroe for example but not set on the idea of replacing the whole front and back line.

Still no signings…
Concerning isn’t it, Lampard has been talking about squad depth since the window closed.

You’d of thought, when the January window opened the club would’ve had signings ready to go, but it doesn’t seem that way.

Very concerning.

Genuinely, as it stands, if I were a PL manager with a young, talented winger I wanted to loan out, would Coventry right now, be the best place?

6-8 weeks ago, 100%. Fast, attacking, scoring goals for fun. Its definitely where im sending my loan players.

Now? Are they likely to batter his confidence? Send his progression backwards? Downward trajectory. 18th in the form table. Defending like garbage. As shown by Woolf and KKH Lampard will pick his favourites regardless of form so are they likely to get minutes ahead of a tired and out of form player?

Wrexham however are stupid enough to pay his full wage, not just a % of it, and are on an upward trajectory. I might send young [insert name here] there instead.

that's so last year. I'm expecting some spending!

It’s Saddle but Saddle said we’d spent money on Grimes that would need clawing back.

I don’t think Doug can find this from player sales alone. There’s going to need to be some speculation.

Can appreciate the need for patience, but I would argue that with we knew when the window closed where we were short and what needed depth. To have not had something ready to go, see Birmingham as an example.

Without context it’s very hard to judge but on the face of it disappointing.
