I see WHUFC have just signed two forward so he is surplus and I was just going to mention him. He is what we need. His experience would be so useful for our forwards and he can still knock them in.
His legs have completely gone.

Currently sitting 6 points clear with a squad built entirely under his ownership and a manager he hired but ok lol
But it’s a squad built on investments before him. We’re punching above our weight but right now - we need reinforcements. We needed them in the summer.

Doug has done a lot of good for us. But his time to shine and speculate is now

He'd be a brilliant one until the end of the season, however his wages would make this highly unlikely, id expect him to go abroad

You'd take Wilson until the end of the season. Great to have as a bench option, Cov lad and great professional with good experience.

4 PL goals in fairly sparse minutes. West Ham fans seemed to like him.

Not sure he'd go for it though!

I'd take a Winger and a 10 who can also cover on the wings
We've got 4 positions needing attention. 6 if were being greedy.
LW
RW
10
CM.

LB and ST if we're being greedy. The people calling me deluded for saying as such and saying we only need 2 or 3 are also saying of the 2 or 3, we need somebody who can cover LW, RW, 10, CM, LB and the odd stint in goal too! People are on here searching for a fucking unicorn, yet they're calling me deluded?

not one for now, or for us, but imagine if we did go up and had the ability to drop £70 million on players like Fermin Lopez…. Sunderland currently in negotiations with Barcelona

shows money chucked at getting promoted now might be small change compared to how much it could be worth longer term

We wouldnt spend that sort of money on a player

Exactly this. Everyone on here talking about "but his wage expectations will be too high" and "i can see high wages being an issue".

We get this right now, and this time next season we'll be a PL team. And the few extra quid pinching that seen us miss signing Bamford, will be chump change. Get it wrong now by being tight cunts, and we're back to square one and the last 5 years has been for fuck all.

If we want to be a PL team next season, we need PL quality signings now to take us there. And if that means loosening the wages belt, then get it fucking done I say.

Yeah I’m sure the lad wants to swap Barcelona for Sunderland 😂 would be career suicide.

I think if you think we need 2 or 3 in, youre deluded. Id say 5. Maybe 6.

No, we need 4, like I said! 6 if were being greedy, like I said!

But we also cant skimp this window by bringing in 1 player to cover all bases like some are suggesting.

Not sure how realistic Wilson would be. Great player but very injury prone unfortunately
If he can do 20/30 mins a game to help rotate strikers more than worth it even at high wages.

Tgis coukd be masterstroke...even if it costs £1m plus in wages ..and insurance if he gets injured.

These are the type of risk/reward we need to make. But with players who will lift the whole place and training.

Fuck it then. We only need 1 signing. But, he needs, as a minimum, to be, better in goal than Dovin, can cover RB (so needs to be as quick as MVE) cover LB, cover CH, so as good in the air as Bobby, CM, so has got to be able to pick the ball up from the defence and split the opposition with 1 pass. Has to have the trickery of Saka to cover the RW, the energy of BTA to cover 10/Stiker/LW=RW as and when needed. And the goals return of Vik in case he's needed to play up top.
I think his CV should also have some managerial experience on it as i can see FL losing it with all the pens we're being denied so I can see a 3 match ban for him coming up so if he could cover that roll too.
A bit of scouting wouldn't go a miss so he can cover Dean Austin from time to time.
And unless he has ownership experience to cover dougs skiing trips he's not the man!
Might be helpful if he can do a bit of physio work so he can work on his own calf injury that he'll pick up from doing all these rolls. And at half time, rather than team talks and refreshments, he's on the pitch with a fork filling holes.

He doesnt need to do much, but youre right, all we need is ONE SIGNING! Job done!

We need the reinforcements and we need them asap. We are now looking to buy better quality players who will have agents determined to tart them around to feather their own nest. However expecting signings to appear at the drop of a hat is naive
