Can appreciate the need for patience, but I would argue that with we knew when the window closed where we were short and what needed depth. To have not had something ready to go, see Birmingham as an example.

Without context it’s very hard to judge but on the face of it disappointing.
We are top of the league and need 2 or 3 in the door, we should have at least 1 in by now and I’d argue even 2, the people saying about patience are deluded

They dont realise how many points we could lose not getting support. Getting them in on the last day of the window isnt good enough

I think if you think we need 2 or 3 in, youre deluded. Id say 5. Maybe 6. We were 2-3 short in the summer. That had a knock on effect. I think we're now 5-6.

Personally I think:
LB cover better than Bidwell/Brau would be nice but not essential.
CM
ACM/No10
LW
RW both not necessary if we could find someone that can cover both sides maybe.
ST. A different option to Wright and Simms. Somebody quick. Bit of pace. Adam Armstrong type striker.

So 4. 6 if Doug is feeling generous.

Would have thought we'd have had people lined up ready to go as soon as the window opened. We've got to be an attractive proposition right now. How often do players get a chance to come to a side leading the league with a realistic prospect of getting decent minutes?

Similarly with the top loan players, surely we should be at the front of the queue for a change.

The longer we go through the window without bringing players in the more nervous I become, don't want to be scratching around for anyone we can find when the window is about to close.
You’d think agents would be calling us really.

By the last day of the window, on current form we'll have completely lost the gap on Ipswich and Boro. On current form we could probably already be 3rd and out of the auto spots.

If we were trying to bring in average players then yes it isn't difficult. We're after good players. We will have tough competition for their signings and maybe the present club want a replacement through the door before sanctioning the move.

You think others are deluded, and come out with needing 6 ?!
Yeah, 100 fucking percent i do yes. Ive also listed what we need and I dont think that list of needs is deluded in the slightest. Prove me wrong that we dont need:
CM
ACM/No10
LW
RW
ST.

Rather than just having a snipe, actual back your argument up. 4. 6 best case. Prove otherwise.....

Can you prove we will not get promoted if we don't sign 5 players?

Prove otherwise ;)

Esse, Neil, Manneh perfect window for me with the wingers able to play both sides and in the 10, Neil able to play 6/8 we dont need more defenders we have enough, we dont need a Striker we have enough we need more options to create behind, and jf we’re feeling extra cheeky a Patrick Berg from Bodo/Glimt as well please on top of whats already above

This would be a good sensible window. Feels like we've ran out of ideas at times going forwards

Still no signings…
Its pretty pathetic.

Wtf is going on behind the scenes do we not have a competent recruitment department?

Frank Lampard got Bamford fit and pretty ready did all the hard work himself.

Mind boggles.

Our best and pretty much best chance on a plate. And Dougs quibbling over a few hundred grand in wages.

Bamford was a no brainer. Short tern contract till jan.

Look what results have been since Bamford left us and joined Shef United.
Hes boosted their alreqsdy strong forward line.

Was let go around the time Asante got injured. Great recruitment.

Can we stop comparing assumed cash in for transfers against money we have to spend. It’s never worked like that and never will. A huge chunk of incoming fees have to keep us running and in business. The correlation between incoming fees and available cash to spend on players will never exist

I really can't see us signing a left back.

Firstly we'd have to get rid of both Brau and Bidwell.

Then there seems little point in getting someone in just to be backup to Dasilva.

Which means getting someone better than Dasilva in - are they going to be good enough to play in the PL? How much is that going to cost?

Just not a priority right now at all.

Doug needs to realise..ok he spent money on stadium. But surely didnt expect this position not even in his wildest dreams.

Everythings worth double! Stadium value and revenue almost doubles if in premier league.

There will not be another transfer window.

Its now or never in my eyes. Or he can sit and wait till parachute are no longer a thing. Cos next year going up automatically or through play offs is going to be biggest battle.

Yep - always amuses me when people say 'where's the transfer fee from that sale gone?' whilst not getting their heads around the fact that our outgoings have exceeded our income season after season.

This is true. What we spend is always down to the owners discretion.

Running a Championship football club costs lots of money. No one forced the owners to buy Championship football clubs.
