Downer post. Our record away against the top teams is rubbish, great against the lower half teams. Probably can't count Milwall away, as that was due to special circumstances (Moore's poor form). We were outplayed at Sheff Utd and West Brom, played Sunderland before they had settled down. Blackburn we got lucky when Wilson wanged it into the net with his penis from 7 inches. Only the first half against Burnley was a good performance but we still lost. That said, it depends on how much Middlesborough are up for it. If they play some squad players, they may be trying like crazy to earn a place. I have everything crossed and hope our away form against the lesser teams can be brought into this game. This is a cup final, lets hope there are 3 more after this match.

I'm thinking a draw Monday and save the win for play-off 2nd leg. Can't be too greedy

A draw or lose by a single goal and we will be OK imo. Surely the players can hold on to that? Allen will run around like crazy closing peole down for 60 minutes then Sheaf will come on.

Pretty sure King Charles III was wearing a replica CCFC away shirt under his fur cloak on the Buckingham Palace balcony today. Good omen or not?

He missed that effort from JCH in the first half which was brilliantly tipped over

Which was understandable given the context. Both teams needing a draw were not going to attack in the last half hour. I don’t believe the game was played with a pre determined result.

Yeah - I agree, but I was getting really twitchy/agitated during that period towards the end of the game, knowing that one cock up in defence might have cost us the play off spot - particularly when I knew we were easily capable of beating them.

We’ll be ticketyboo.

Might have put money on 0-0 and both teams to receive at least a booking each…

I think Bidwell will play over Esbrand. Would Allen in for Godden be too negative? Allen for Eccles or Kelly too attacking?

I think Middlesbrough will have a go at us. Will probably leave out Giles and Howson and potentially Akpom but they’ll be strong and looking for a result.

A thing I’ve noticed from opposition fans is they always say city will come on to them which suits their style of play. We’ve been a counter attacking team since pretty much September so I’m unsure where they get this stuff from.

I don't think we should change the recipe at all. Just go in there and do what we do. As long as they're up for it and jump onto the pitch with a never-say-die attitude, we'll be ok.

From a superstitious perspective, we've been playing really well with our bare bones squad. I'm worried we'll get some players back from injury and start playing worse.

Overthinking is off the charts. This gap between games really has been too long!

Didn’t Howson get injured in the warm up before their last game? Do we know how bad this is?

Im getting anxious now.

I agree. Boro have got a good home record but have dropped off a bit recently and despite our poor away record against the top teams we've still got 10 clean sheets away so no need to start experimenting.

Sounds like an excuse to rest him without Scumderland kicking off about it. Spolier... they will anyway.

If it’s ‘touch and go’ it’s gotta be, right?

As someone said on here, having an injury and sending off in their last game may make them more cautious.

Although as someone else said, giving their squad players a chance is risky as they might feel they have a point to prove, to get into the first team for the playoffs…

I’m tying myself in knots at this stage.

They will almost certainly leave that trio out I think, they're all carrying knocks I think. It would be mental to risk them on a what is essential a dead rubber for them.

Some of our fans think were a free flowing attacking team in fairness...

Not sure about our line up, my gut says that it'll be in line with what he put out against brum with maybe one of the changes you referenced. I think Godden starts tho

From bottom of the table after 7 games and no wins to where we are is just an incredible achievement. I was praying we would somehow stay up in October!

Looking back at the season now, we've had new ownership, mid term stadium deal sorted, biggest league attendance at the CBS arena, a possible play offs and a best ever finish in the championship since we went down from the prem in 2001.

It's been an incredible season no matter the end result now. Robins is our one true king!

Just to put some final games/playoff variables into context. All the talk about teams like Millwall and Sunderland winning tomorrow, it isn't always so straight forward like that.

Today in League 1: Morecambe lost, MK Dons drew, Cambridge United won. The latter climbed above the former two and stayed up as a result of the other two bottling it. Derby also lost the game of their lives and got over taken by Peterborough for the playoffs. Notts County currently 2-1 down to Boreham Wood in the National League playoff semi-final, despite finishing 35 points above them. Could easily see their season over if they don't pull it back in the next fifteen minutes or so.

Let's hope we don't screw it up, but literally anything can happen tomorrow, even if we do.

Derby lost to Wednesday who are in a similar position to Boro and missed out on the play offs as a result.

Yeah, I just edited my post a few seconds before you posted. Just shows nothing is a given.

I'll try and remind myself of that tomorrow if we go one down!

It's going to be a tense old day, unless we smash in in the first 20 minutes!

If you think it will be tense for us (which it will be) consider how tense it will be for the supporters who know they have to win to have a chance of the playoffs. 1-0 up won't make it much better. They will have that fear every time their opponents have the ball. If we go 1-0 up we would have to let 2 in and the other two sides still have to win.

If one of them goes a goal down the pressure will be off us for a while at least.

Prefer this to the perennial battles against relegation we used to have
