    New Keeper

Hold on, I thought players couldn't play for more than two clubs in one season, and we'll be his third. Is the rule different for keepers? Football players playing for more than one club in a season - InBrief.co.uk

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Gillingham Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Feb

Just been looking at the results this season. We've scored 2 or above only six times in 31 league games. Basically, if the opposition score once, we're probably screwed. As a breakdown, we've scored 2 five times and 4 once.

    Charlie Wakefield

I read somewhere (Telegraph, maybe) that said he was expected to be an impact sub initially rather than in the starting XI. How true that is, we'll wait to see.

    Transfer Rumour David Meyler

He was a Premier League player only 2 years ago. Made something like 125 PL appearances in his career, got 24 international caps, only 29. Surely we're below his level?

    Transfer Rumour David Meyler

Surprised he's only 29 tbh. Seems to have been around forever. And I guess if he does it with us in L1, he'll prove he can do it for Reading in L1 next season.

    Transfer Rumour David Meyler

Like him, but if his wages are high then unless his parent club pays a decent percentage I struggle to see it happening. Wouldn't be against it, though.

2 goals in 3 games since he signed full time. Decent return!

I meant that at least we can't defend the draw now.

    Sunderland Documentary

I found it interesting how Grayson was told he had to have 5 (iirc) under 25s in the team to ensure some resale value. The manager being dictated to in that way cannot help the team perform. I couldn't help but wonder if some of our recent managers were given similar direction.

Match Thread Shrewsbury Town vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 22nd Dec

There's no plan B. We've had a host of managers who can't change things when the game is slipping away. That's probably why they manage at this level of the game.

Match Thread Shrewsbury Town vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 22nd Dec

Towards the end of last season, Robins took the decision to be bold. For some reason, he's gone back into a defensive mindset. Maybe he thinks we aren't good enough to play open football. I kind of agree, but I wish he'd give the players some level of free reign. They just seem overly restricted...

    So, two weeks before Christmas

If the board (lol) genuinely think the club may die in the summer, then I imagine there are some financial implications that may affect whether we spend in Jan or not?

Perhaps there'll be a WITC to replace it.

I guess this decision has quite wide-ranging impact. It isn't just the fans that will be crushed, but local businesses, charities, and community partners. Short-sighted decisions all round.

Where does the Higgs fall in all this? Didn't CCFC sign a multi-year agreement with them not too long ago? Assuming I'm right (I might not be - I try not to pay attention) then isn't this more than just the club / fans being screwed, but a charity too?

Worst Manager since premier league relegation

For me it's Pressley. He made me fall out of love with football for the best part of a year. Yes, we did well at Northampton, but I didn't get to see that, and when we came back to the Ricoh it was pure, unadulterated dross. Plus his post-match interviews made me want to punch myself in the face...
