My mum used to take my extension lead so I couldn't plug my Spectrum in. Worst punishment ever.

    The Parenting Thread...

My kid was ten weeks early, so it was a real surprise when she arrived. The first night I was numb. My wife was in the George Eliot, my kid at Walsgrave, and I had no idea what to do or where to go. I wanted to be there for them both. Eight weeks later the kid came out of hospital. That meant...

    Am I A Hooligan?

I've told this tale before, but I was at Villa Park in the home end with a half-dozen Villa supporting mates. It was the game that Moldovan scored in, and obviously I celebrated. The stewards had to form a ring of protection around me to protect me from the people I'd gone with. I realised at...

    Negativity

After 5 minutes, when we were going toe-to-toe in a lively start against the team at the top of the league? In my opinion it was an over-reaction at that point in time.

    Negativity

The negativity on the match thread started after about five minutes. There are some real over-reactions on this forum. Too much black and white, when the reality is really shades of gray*. *Julian Gray, obvs.

Jordan Shipley - is he good enough for league 1

A point somewhat linked to Shipley is that the whole raft of new players (and I understand some were for the development squad) have been left on the bench or in the reserves because last year's players have managed to step up to the plate.

Jordan Shipley - is he good enough for league 1

He's our Poundland James Milner. All over the pitch, battling away, chasing and harrying and refusing to give the opposition time to play. A team is the sum of its parts, and Shipley is an integral cog in the machine right now. How people can't see his value at this level is beyond me.

Can we just take a moment to congratulate the defence. Willis moved to right back, Sterling to left back, Davies coming off the bench, and yet we were solid for most of the game. A really gritty defensive display.

I imagine they'd try to scythe him down at every opportunity. We'd need to keep our third sub back just in case.

I've quite enjoyed this game so far. Not a footballing classic by any means, but entertaining in its own way.

If JCH plays better angry then I'm looking forward to the second half, because he must be getting pretty peed off.
