Yes it was later, December 1966, when I was 11. Sorry about that! But still a great evening!

Is that Martin Peters with him?

    Coventry Strikers

That’s true, I guess I was looking back nostalgically at how he tore up the second division in our championship year. Maybe he would have done better staying with us, although you couldn’t blame him for joining Arsenal. On the subject of Gould, does anyone remember a night game against Ipswich...

    Coventry Strikers

Gyokeres is doing well, but has a long way to go to match our best. Two more to think about, Bobby Gould scored a goal every other game for us in the mid sixties, including 25 goals in our 2nd division championship season, and Neil Martin, a tremendous header of the ball, with a decent goal...

Have Wasps got a ground for next season?

That’s the point, I don’t care where they end up, as long as it’s not at the CBS. But while ever their ground next season hasn’t been finalised, there could be a danger that they end up back here?

    Songs We No Longer Sing

Yep, a good mid sixties song when Wolves were the real enemy, not Leicester or Villa. I don’t remember this being sung at the City, but my Grandad used to sing… aye aye aye aye, Glazier is better than Yashin, and Gibson is better than Eusebio, and Wolves are in for a thrashing.

Have Wasps got a ground for next season?

From the Cov Rugby forum it looks like that’s not done and dusted. The whole Sixways thing looks to be up in the air.

Have Wasps got a ground for next season?

I thought they had agreed a deal to play at Solihull Moor’s ground next season. However, reading the Cov Rugby Club forum just now, it would appear that that isn’t the case, and that they seem to be considering various options. That worries me, is there a chance that they could poll up at the...

Yep, poor headed clearance for the goal, but the way he has played, can be forgiven a mistake. The real reason we didn’t win is not capitalising on our dominance and finishing the game off.

Match Thread ⚽️ Wigan Athletic vs Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 14th Mar

Thought Wigan looked better than bottom of the league, and their manager made attacking substitutions, they were a bit of a handful. The real issue, as Robins said earlier in the week, is that we don’t score enough goals. The possession we had for the first 30 minutes of the second half should...

    BBC.

I agree about Ian Wright, passionate and insightful. But Micah Richards drives me mad with his inane laughing. Give me someone like Matt Upson any day.

Well, we were having a half reasonable conversation/debate, but now that you’re seeking to drop the conversation down to a level that your comfortable with, I’m ending the conversation.

Saying it’s not a BBC programme is semantics, and yes, he was originally a Labour peer, but has been an independent Lord since 2015. The relevant point is not his politics, but the inconsistency of allowing personal tweets by many BBC employees/freelancers, but making an example of Lineker.

    BBC.

This exactly. There would probably have been a process which started with disinformation, and scare tactics, probably similar to Braverman’s ‘there are hundreds of millions refugees, and they’re all coming here.’ I don’t think anyone is saying we’re on the same road as Nazi Germany, but...

The problem is the lack of consistency. Sugar, who is arguably a higher profile than Lineker, and who fronts a prime time BBC programme, can tweet anti Labour sentiments without any comment, and who posted a photograph of a superimposed Corbyn sitting in a car next to Hitler. Whether you agree...

    What Was Your…

Yep, I would think anyone who was at that game would have it top of the list. Great game, great atmosphere, great result. The whole city on a high. Anybody mentioned 16 May 1987 yet?
