    Match Thread Bournemouth away

Nobody wants to get carried away, but from day one this season has had a special buzz and aura about it. The player fan relationship, the player camaraderie, the positive noises from the club. It’s all very reminiscent of that L2 season. Fans were incredible again today, we have a lot of...

Definitely a red, not for last man, but he was absolutely nowhere near the ball and had absolutely zero intent of getting it. Why should “tactical fouls” allowed, it was an appalling challenge and got what it deserved. However I think it’ll actually make it harder for us now as they’ll close...

Really disappointed there’s no Sheaf, but pleased Maasten is back. Big Dabo fan but on form I would have played Kane. Kelly will add some stability and positioning but will take away attacking intent. Maybe it will allow Hamer more space and freedom. Birmingham are clearly long ball/long...

    Match Thread Sheffield Utd (a) - 12:30 - Sat 20th

Sheaf still showing his ability and how he can dictate a game. No different to previous games, but it’s not overshadowed by a mistake today so people aren’t as narrow minded/have no excuse to moan. Kane increasingly growing on me too. Always rated his crossing ability but he’s showing a lot...

Everyone doing their job well - no need to look for faults. We look very comfortable against a good side. Sheaf and Kane standing out on the ball and Allen and McFadzean off it.

OH OW. Sheaf having a good game and showing exactly what he’s capable of. Everyone ok?

They are a team full of “names” who I expected a lot more from. Don’t want to curse anything obviously…. We look comfortable, but definitely more to give.

Bright start but we’ve dropped off. That’s was absolutely class take down and lay off from Gyokeres. He’s definitely scoring today.

Looking forward to it, I hate the international break it’s boring. I’d want to see us keep two up front, but if Skybluebeliever says otherwise then it’s unlikely. Not the end of the world though. Interested to see Kane from the start again. 0-2, Gyokeres, Hyam. On a side note I really hope...

    O’Hare

I don’t disagree - I’ve made the same points about the importance of O’Hare - so not too sure why you’ve quoted my post. In fact the one you quoted was a compliment if anything.

    Todd Kane/Michael Rose/Gyok

I wouldn’t bring Kane in yet, his final ball is far superior but if we want to play on the front foot Dabo is the option. Saying that, his form isn’t great, I’m hoping it’s temporary and not the step up. No way I’d drop Gyokeres. He hasn’t scored or been quite as pivotal but the ball sticks to...

Don’t often like your posts, but use of the phrase ‘tossed themselves off’ made me genuinely laugh.

You keep saying stuff like this. Genuine question; where are you getting that information from?

Some crazy and assuming emotive scores on here. I think I watched a different game to some. Management team have to take the slack for the last 20/30 minutes, it was crying out for pace and balls over the top, through the gaps for players to run onto. They potentially tried to address that by...

    O’Hare

Yes he’s in need of a rest but there’s no way you can drop him, as alternatives are considerably weaker. Allen isn’t good enough to play 10 considering the amount of ball COH sees, and Jones is nowhere near (whether that’s temporary or permanent remains to be seen). Other than his inability to...

    Swansea (H) - Tuesday 2nd - 19:45

I want Jones to come good - both from a sentimental perspective, but more importantly as we need an alternative to COH. But I don’t think I was watching the same as some of you tonight. Granted there was a nice turn and perhaps one decent run, but he looked slow/nervy on the ball and rusty -...

    Swansea (H) - Tuesday 2nd - 19:45

Yep, not the point I was making. Attacking threat is a lot more than a good final ball. Completely agree Kanes is miles better, but Dabo’s all round attacking ability is stronger - either on the ball or as an outlet off it he helps drag us up the pitch. Kane won’t do that.

    Swansea (H) - Tuesday 2nd - 19:45

We haven’t been dire or terrible. Nowhere near our best, but as I said before Swansea are a very very good team. Considering how high there line is, then Sheaf for Allen is a good call as he’s a lot better on the ball, so can both help retain it and find attacking through balls. Walker has...

    Swansea (H) - Tuesday 2nd - 19:45

Not sure how Bennett is still on the pitch, two definite yellows in a row and the COH one was ridiculously cynical. Swansea are very good, so let’s not be too downbeat on us. They are the best footballing team I’ve seen. Defensively they are vulnerable. Not sure which two strikers are the...
