He was, the Kitching-MVE-EMC move for goal number 4 was just fantastic. Thomas was also great because he was a big set piece threat and this directly lead to 2 goals yesterday.

Looking at FotMob, Derby’s xG was 1.48 and the only ‘good chance’ they created was for their 3rd goal. The penalty alone accounted for over half their xG. Anyone getting carried away with the headline of 3 goals conceded either wasn’t at the game or looked at the stats. Lampard seemed to brush...

I don’t think the game was that open, but it was chaotic. Their first goal was a freakish goal, the penalty came off the back of a long shot that wasn’t that troublesome and the third was the best chance they created all match. Had we gone 2 goals up, I believe we would’ve routed Derby by 3 or 4...

Exactly. Derby outscored their xG by quite a bit, we’re not likely to concede 3 goals from 1.48 xG in most games. I spoke to a couple of Derby fans in the bar after the game and they were v impressed with how dynamic and fluid we were.

Why are you so negative? We won yesterday and you’re droning on about how bad we are.

Lampard described things well. Goals 1 and 2 conceded were ‘uncontrollable’ and their final goal was difficult to defend. You have Carlton Morris in the box who is a threat and the ball falls to one of their players in the box. Yesterday was a freakish game, I can’t recall anything quite like...

Bobby Thomas to Sheff Utd ?

His tactical role under Robins was to be more of a ball playing CB that he isn’t. Under Lampard and the addition of Grimes, Thomas gets put in a lot less vulnerable positions because he nearly always has a simple pass to MVE, Kitching or Grimes. The pass % can be misleading, because if all...

Bobby Thomas to Sheff Utd ?

If Hull seriously want £20m for him, it's a pretty brief conversation.

Bobby Thomas to Sheff Utd ?

We don't really know what goes on behind closed doors, teams may have enquired. There was no sign of any interest in Thomas before this story broke. Unless we've got seriously good replacements lined up, it's just not the right time to be selling a CB. We only have 3 first teamers and I'm not...

Bobby Thomas to Sheff Utd ?

I don’t think he’s given the ball away nearly as much since Lampard has come in.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

It is impatient because the window hasn’t closed.

Transfer Rumour Bassette to FC Utrecht

A lot of our fans know nothing about negotiating anything in real life and it shows. Back in Jan 2023, there were people who would’ve sold Vik for £8m… 😂

    Transfer Rumour MVE to Wolfsburg

We do, his name is Haji Wright and it’s on us to play him there. It’s worth noting that these shots would’ve mostly been outside the box. Rudoni, MVE and maybe Saka will have had a shot inside the box.

Match Thread Derby County - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 16th Aug

4-2-3-1 and 4-4-2 are more or less the same formation. Rudoni and the starting striker sit in a 4-4-2 shape out of possession. Rudoni and Wright had free roles v Hull and Luton, the play style being different of course but there isn’t much difference.

I reckon we'll see 4-4-2 for this one unless Rapha is being trusted with a starting berth in the league. Unless I've missed it, there's no update on EMC so at this point I'd presume he's not going to take part.
  16. Mucca Mad Boys

    Would you sell Rudoni?

Our squad is one of the most expensive in the league, even with the money Blues and others have chucked about. 4 of those teams are parachute payment teams and Norwich who had built up a squad who attracted massive fees from their parachute payments/Prem days.
  17. Mucca Mad Boys

    Would you sell Rudoni?

I don't buy the Blues nor Wrexham hype yet. The idea we'll sell Rudoni to Southampton is not credible imo. They probably do want him but is it a move Rudoni will be desperate for? Probably not. If Rudoni improves on last season's performance, a better Prem team will come in for him than...
  18. Mucca Mad Boys

    Would you sell Rudoni?

We got more points than Sheff U after Xmas last season and including Lampard's tenure we were close to Sheff U, only 3-6 points behind. There is room to improve the squad but it's not as drastic as you say here. Both last season and 23/24 was mired by v slow starts.
  19. Mucca Mad Boys

    Would you sell Rudoni?

Good. If a team isn't meeting our valuation for a player then we shouldn't sell. If a team is only willing to pay £6m for MVE or £15m for Rudoni, I'd genuinely rather take the punt on going up this year and keep them. Reminds me when Celtic wanted to pay us £375k for Westwood and (at the time)...

    Ex Player Reactions

Liam Walsh was red carded against us earlier this season and was generally a bit of a shithouse... That's probably why he was booed. The clapping for ex-players is tinpot.
