    Liam Kitching

To be honest, you’re amongst the most guilty on here for confirmation bias. You’ve never liked Lampard and any evidence were declining in performance and you’re all over it. I’m sure said similar things when we beat Bristol and Oxford last year in the cup.

Personally, I think Thomas is a better defender than Kitching. The two do compliment each other v well and it’s a position where you need good combinations. I would necessarily sign a CB unless they’re next level and will start ahead of them both.

It’s not a direct comparison. If we rewind back to 22/23, there were games where Vik missed many big chances, he led the big chances metric by a mile. IIRC, it was v Birmingham where we won 2-0 and Vik scored a penalty. He had 2-3 gilt edge chances that he missed before the penalty. He got the...

For me, Saka doesn’t take on defenders as much as I’d like to be honest. His dribble moves are mostly to create space for a cross or pass to a marauding fullback. Granted, he’s got excellent technique because some of his shots and crosses are perfect placements… However, I want to see our...

His movement in the box is v good. There was a good move in the box where he did a spin-like move to beat his defender but the ball was just a bit too far away and ended up in the goalkeepers hands. People think we need a bruiser in the box, we don’t. Simms’ headers weren’t by towering up above...

Scapegoat indeed, I heard a group of lads slagging him off on Saturday even though he hadn’t even played. He is more than capable as a deputy to Haji Wright as things stand.

He did miss chances but got the all important winning goal. You look back at Vik and all the chances he missed, you wouldn’t have predicted he’d be an elite striker, he led the ‘big chances missed’ by a country mile in 21/22 and 22/23. He got in good goal scoring positions, got a goal and...

If you had a higher quality player with the similar attributes of Rapha, he’d start ahead of Sakamoto imo. His directness is admirable and had a little bit of magic that led to the goal. It was a v solid outing. There was an element of game management at play, but thought we looked more potent...

Fair play to Andrews and Rapha, they’ve both put in positive performances. There’s a long way for both to really push the starters but you can see why Lampard likes them both.

    What is going on?

It’s the usual bed wetter brigade who are making the same hasty takes that look stupid year on year. If we play as we did v Hull week in and week out, we won’t lose many games and will be up there in the playoffs. It was frustrating not to win but it was otherwise a decent performance, a 1-0...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

I haven’t come across a single neutral that thought Sunderland were the better side of the tie. We beat Sunderland over the 90 minutes and had it not been for MVE’s back pass in the first leg, it could’ve been the difference between us winning the tie.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

No, it’s a number game. If you only have 2 wingers and also play a formation with 2 wingers, one injury forced you into playing players out of position or a formation change. Which is what happened last season. The people who think we need a striker either think Haji Wright is a LW (Lampard...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

That would be scary but all the CBs have been reliable in the sense that they’re v rarely injured. I’m less concerned that we’d run out of CBs as opposed to wingers which is by its nature, a position that has a higher attrition rate. In any case, it’s pretty clear that we’re chasing a CB and...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Exactly this. The obsession with buying a striker this window is just strange. We play a formation with 2 wingers and do not have credible backups. Over a 50 game season, Sakamoto and EMC will both miss games. To his credit, Saka was reliable and durable last season.

    Callum Doyle

They do have a good partnership and whenever they play, we concede less goals and more clean sheets despite what individual stats may say. Clean sheets is a team stat but the combinations cannot be underestimated.

Despite the facts, the wills and wants of player and manager… Haji Wright’s best position is from the left! 🤡

Can we save the bed wetting until the end of the transfer window at least? 😂

    The Squad

We now know that he was struggling with an injury so in my mind, he gets the benefit of the doubt. People don’t like Wright’s demeanour but his stats speak for itself and find this undercurrent hankering for a lump like Keiffer Moore or Carlton Morris really strange. Haji Wright was 4th joint...

    The Squad

In the case of Haji, he’s not even had a good stretch playing striker under Lampard. If he had a 5-10 game drought the questions being asked would be fairer.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

We’re not selling Simms or BTA this season and people need to let that go… next season will be the time to take stock. As for Bassette, a loan will hopefully do him and us a load of good.
