Agreed, Torp’s goals were obviously low xG chances and as was Rudoni’s 2nd. The other goals seemed like good quality chances to me but apparently only BTA’s was a ‘big chance’.

To accommodate BTA, he’s not being utilised as an out and winger which makes sense. There was a lot of occasions where, in practice, we were attacking in a 4-4-2 shape with Rudoni (who had a free role) doubling up with MVE for overloads/ball progression. Which allowed BTA and Wright to get in...

Different games are situational too, it’s a long season so there will be games players aren’t available or there’s a tactical requirement to play a more defensive player like Sheaf or Eccles. For balance purposes, you’d look to shift Sheaf/Eccless (in the future) and bring in more of a creative...

I don’t think anyone cares who starts as long as we’re winning games rather than a sentimental attachment to Sheaf. Torp has 3 goals already so if he carries on that trajectory, he will be undroppable. Nonetheless, for Day 1, Sheaf was probably still Lampard’s first choice starter alongside Grimes.

    Ellis simms

It’s v odd behaviour. The strikers have 6 goals in 4 games games and people are still saying we need a striker… Yet, in every game this season, we’ve ended up playing fullbacks on the wing. For high attrition positions on the pitch, it’s a numbers game and you need 3 wingers who you can trust...

Match Thread Coventry City - Queens Park Rangers Match Thread - Saturday 23rd Aug

In my head, I thought the xG would be similar to Derby last week, probably less because penalties are 0.8 on it. I didn’t expect it to be our lowest xG of the season! We battered QPR and I’ve never seen such a one sided game. This was the type of performance that leads to a snap sacking of the...

Looking at FotMob, apparently our xG was 1.27 which I believe has got to be a mistake. That’s less than the opening day v Hull. We were unbelievably efficient today and we scored from chances that were low xG but Haji x2, BTA and Rudoni’s first were all clear cut chances iirc.

In fairness to KKH, he’s not a winger. If there are games we need people from the bench to change the tide of the game, we’ll still struggle. Rapha looked decent but still v raw. Lampard has said we need a LW and a CB so presumably we’re working on making that happen.

    Expectations Moving Forwards

Top 4. In keeping a level head after today. This season we’ll struggle where we need to change things from the bench imo. Can you rely on bringing KKH/Brau and Rapha on the wings when chasing games? Probably not.

Has anyone seen a more dominating performance live or on TV? I don’t think I have. Fair play to the team, at 7-0 we were still looking for goals. Credit to Lampard et al!

    Stadium update

In fairness, these are only ‘poor club’ problems you’ll see at the bottom of the championship, L1 and L2… which we all got to experience! In the Prem, it’s a different ball game so hopefully we get to the Prem and establish ourselves sooner rather than later.

I knew this was public posturing but never thought we were seriously in a position to buy the stadium!

    Matchday Ticket Prices

That’s not really what we’re discussing. Besides, if the average away following is 1500, that means a 28k attendance is 26.5k Cov fans, i.e. a v small proportion of supporters/day trippers who go to ad-hoc games. Again, we’re not actually selling that many tickets per game outside the ‘big...

    Matchday Ticket Prices

Probably should've worded it as: "after our 24k STHs there isn't that many fans who would follow us regularly". The point being that the price wouldn't really impact total attendance by much either way.
  15. Mucca Mad Boys

    Matchday Ticket Prices

It's not an in-demand game and because there's 24k STH, there also isn't that many Cov fans left who would regularly follow us. The pricing isn't that bad because £28-35 is average ticket prices for Championship league matches now. It could be £20 a ticket and you'll still get people moaning...

    Millwall cup tickets

It’s v streamlined and easy to administer so it’s a good system. if we get to the prem and allocations around the 2-2.5k mark, they’d need to open it up with some sort of a ballot system otherwise it runs the risk of being a ‘closed shop’.

    Millwall cup tickets

I only did 2-3 away games a season before 23/24, didn’t get a ST for 22/23 and my points are still 1400+. 23/24 and 24/25 there’s been a lot of travelling up and down the country and it really is those 20, 30 pointer games that really boost your points tally. This season we’ve got plenty of...

    The official NFL Thread

Has anyone watched SEC: Any Given Saturday? I watched the 1st episode yesterday and it was good! College football is massive in the USA and I'd say that the NFL is the gateway drug into the world of NCAA football. Coupled with EA bringing out the CFB video games and the Florida Gators Netflix...

    Millwall cup tickets

The problem isn't even that widespread. In all the aways I've bought tickets for over the last 2 seasons, there's been 2 instances where I didn't go; Huddersfield away in 23/24 because traffic was horrendous and was going to miss the first half and Sheff U where, admittedly, I was points farming...
