The only reason I can see Simms starts is to help deal with the aerial threat defending set pieces. If Binks is at LB, it will be interesting how he fairs.

Who would you put above him this season? I would like to think my knowledge of football is pretty good. Not too sure about yours based on that comment.

I personally think Eccles has been one of our most consistent players so far. Today, I think was probably his worst performance. It doesn't speak volumes but so far he is probably our player of season.

I do like Dovin. He is athletic and his handling is good. I do feel concerned though about some of his errors (this one and before Coventry) being perceptual.

I would like to see Torp as a 10 too but I would have Bassette or Thomas-Asante up front. I think their movement is better and Torp looks the only player who has a killer pass to match the movement. Rudoni could play deeper.

What do you mean by technical ability? He is poor holding the ball up, poor heading, average passer and not a natural finisher (apart from taking a penalty). The only assets he has is pace and being two-footed. Occasionally he has a trick to move past a player. The same can be said of Simms...

I think he has improved this season. Today though he looked fatigued or carrying a knock. He may be injured but if not I would be inclined to rest him.

Disagree. The 10 mins before their goal, they were not looking a threat at all.

Seems to be the pattern that we concede when we are in control of the game. Surely that is a concentration issue. Think Torp needs a bit of a run in the starting line up. Looked good again. Don't get how Simms comes on ahead of Bassette, after his Preston performance. Van Erwijk another poor...

Great start. What a difference playing with intensity makes. After that we cannot hold the ball up. Both Wright and Thomas-Asante both culpable. Rudoni needs to get on the ball too. Without controlling the ball at the top end, it will continue to be relentless pressure defensively.

I think Binks is a quality player. He has only just turned 23 so plenty of development in him. He cost half as much as Kitching and for me is much better. I am sure there would have been other clubs looking at him.

I was thinking about this too. I think only Eccles and DaSilva have progressed from last season. Unfortunately there are more who have regressed.

That's what we had preseason and we were much better organised.
