The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I might be wrong (and certainly not trying to defend it) however I presume that if there was no deal by the end of the suspension ie 14 Oct Parliament could still try to seek to stop us leaving on 31 Oct ? I wonder if it’s an attempt to give Johnson until 14 Oct to agree a deal and focus EUs minds.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I voted Leave Astute. I think I’ve mentioned on here before I was sat on the fence right up to the final week/day but ultimately decided when reading up on the history of not implementing EU referendums, considering their behaviour towards Cameron (it was probably as much his fault as theirs but...

    Bury gone

Quite a few have gone bust....just not disappeared. I think it’s becoming more and more difficult though and while I’ve said there needs to be changes in relation to the EFL, possibly regarding the golden share, there needs to be more sweeping changes in terms of football in general and how...

Player contracts would likely terminate (we are also talking about players who haven’t been paid for months so could terminate anyway). Stadium. Depends on its value for alternative use. As we’ve found there are other short term options if the owner didn’t want to sell....and they might well be...

    Bury gone

Dodgy was a flippant word. Basically what the fit and proper person check should weed out (have insufficient funds to effectively run the club, not have a history of insolvencies etc etc). Unfortunately as things stand, once they have ‘passed’ the fit and proper test the EFL can’t do anything ...

    Bury gone

Only talking about the golden share (ability to compete in a competition). Which I honestly think should be able to be removed from dodgy owners. Even the threat of the EFL having the ability to do this may dissuade certain people getting involved in the first place. Not saying it’s an ideal...

I think they already have differing laws. The football creditor rule being one ie football creditors to be given preference over non football creditors in a CVA/administration ie football creditors need to be repaid in full.

You know as well as I do it’s different Grendel. Owners might treat football clubs as businesses but we (fans) all know they are more than that. Also going into administration and being docked points is one thing (ie business collapsing)....being chucked out the league is another. By all...

I’d rather that than the current situation. I’m not talking about new owners having the ability to take the clubs to alternative locations (not that it stops some current owners !) My idea is full of holes/loopholes that would need sorting but the alternative, as we are currently seeing, is...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Did he actually say that Tony ? (Pre referendum) I have to say though he’s pissing me off. Does he want Brexit or not ?! He doesn’t appear to accept the fact that people in a sense voted for various forms of Brexit or that the country is approximately 50/50 even now. Therefore there should be...

The problem is in all of these scenarios it’s the fans that pay the price. The EFL needs to have a mechanism where the ‘golden share’ is removed from owners if they aren’t meeting certain criteria or go into administration ie the owners are just custodians if it. The EFL then runs the process...

Not sure this lower standard foodstuffs is quite right SBD. My view is if it’s safe for the consumer it should be their call. Ill use the well used example of chlorinated chicken. If it is available and clearly marked by supermarkets but is cheaper, why shouldn’t someone on a lower budget be...

    England cricket 2019

What if Labuschagne hadn’t had about ten lives on Friday night and Saturday morning (from memory dropped at least four times and stokes also would’ve had him out but it was a no ball) One of those and/or one decent partnership in the first innings would’ve seen us over the line a lot easier...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Gillingham Match Thread - Saturday 24th Aug

Great first half (should’ve been a couple up really). Poor second half after Evans changed the way the set up. Another three points though and some very good showings to date. Rose (a couple of long misplaced passes aside second half aside) continues to look a quality signing, Mason and Shipley...

    Matty godden

Agreed. Makes good runs, works hard, hassles defenders, decent in the air and looking at his record can finish ! I have to be honest, I was a bit unsure when we signed him as he’s probably a year or two older than we’d usually go for but looks like he could become a bit of a cult hero

    Fankaty Dabo v Dujon sterling

Both quality. Really pleased with Dabo. Probably bit more streetwise than Sterling (and reckon he’s got a nastier streak)
