    clingan still no club

Something to do with him being made captain and supposed to dictate the tempo of our play, yet never put his body on the line or made a tackle when hes supposed to be a defensive midfielder and never passing forward. Sorry, as far as I'm concerned, he earned far more than the little abuse he...

    Arsenal Ticket info.

I've never seen us play a Premier League team away :( So hopefully my boss lets me have the afternoon off. I can't overstate how excited I am!

Shaw: I won't ditch the diamond

Fair enough comments, tho I do think the diamond Shaw used had proper width which made a difference

Starting XI and subs - now we've seen everyone play?

Murphy Christie - Edjenguele - Wood - Hussey Jennings Barton ------------- Kilbane Fleck McDonald - Elliot EDIT - Forgot Barton... First name on my teamsheet Subs: Dunn, Thomas/McSheffrey, Clarke, Baker, Malaga Reasoning: Baker's perfomances in general have been better of late (even late...

    Things we found out tonight

Thorns diamond was narrow with no.forward movement of real note. Last night we played a wide variant instead - this gave the wing backs cover to run on - but also saw Baker and Kilbane push forward instead - letting the wing backs hold back to offer support or, god forbid, actually defend if...

Who do you want next in the COC?

Its not on that list as they play tonight, but Everton away for me

    The Cark Baker Show

He was undoubtedly sloppier in the first half, but I would argue he gave the ball away more because he was running at players more. Plus the double slide tackle was pure joy to watch. Second half was incredible

Changed my mind give it to Richard

He kept the diamond but the players' off the ball movement made it effective - and the subs meant the wing backs didn't get too tired. Unfortunately for Thorn that is stuff the manager should be telling his players to do which wasn't happening I guess. Don't want to get carried away, but I...

    Carl Baker. Wow.

Baker was outstanding tonight but I think Elliot has slipped under the radar a bit - work rate was top, he was noticably faster than their back 4 and has scored in other games too. Hes been my biggest surprise so far

    Great game

I didn't really notice a different formation, but it was more adaptive. Also worth noting were the timing and choice of subs, as well as the movement off the ball which I thought was noticable in that it existed. That said, player attitudes were different too - Baker in particular

Email With Taster From Programme - Fisher

Ok I've been a bit out the loop of late - which rumours? On face value I don't really disagree with what he's said - the players are good but the results haven't been and a lot of that is down to substitutions - wrong time and wrong sub for example (last example being Barton picking up a knock...

    Baker

He received a lot of deserver stick last season but seemed like a different player near the end of last season, in a good way. Like him as CAM too - as I can't see us going too far from the diamond yet - maybe a wider diamond would be worth a go.

    Garry Johnson

Gary Johnson was always my preferred candidate - doing well with Yeovil and can play good football.
  14. Sky Blue Sheepy

Why I like the diamond and how it suits us.

My problem is we are always being sucker punched because our full backs are up their end of the pitch when the opposition counters. I fancy letting them defend properly for 90mins, or the new boss uses subs and considers alternatives once fit.

    I have a horrible feeling............

It's Gary Johnson... dear god please. Michael Appleton isn't a bad - clearly doing well from a group of lads on free's.

    Chris Hussey

Bit OTT Leicester - he's not the worst left back in the world by far. Delivers some good crosses and can beat a man at times - is a bit suspect defensively but how many defenders in league 1 can that be said about.

    Andy thorn has been sacked

I feel slightly bad for him, the players he's brought in are class enough but, as long as we bring in a proper manager and not just Shaw/Carsley, I think it's the right decision.

Oh he does. And don't call me Shirley

    Reece Brown

Hussey had a mare vs Yeovil but I do agree that the criticism can go overboard - he has a higher chance of errors as the majority of our moves do go through him. As for Brown, I do wish he'd stop trying little 'skills' when he's so deep in our half. He was lucky on Tuesday that the numerous...

Sat here now I agree with Sb4u. But emotion takes over come KO so I'll probably feel 1 extreme come tomorrow night whether it makes sense or not!
