Personally had no problems with Baker. Certainly Kilbane was off the pace and I've already given my views on Sheff. Ball did fairly well too at times.

Back 4 did well, esp. Reece Brown which was good. Cody didn't really get much service and Elliot looked alright when he came on. Midfield was a bit poor but as said we have 2 or 3 coming back and I'm really excited to see Fleck and Barton. Once again I think the midfield were too narrow though.

The 2 young lads made some great tackles. Baker was constantly getting past his marker, certainly in the first half, less the second. Kilbane wasn't great but still made a share of blocks and challenges but I don't see anything of note from McSheffrey and that summed up a lot of last season too...

If someone deserves it then yes they will get it. Were you there? Theres a reason he was subbed first.

I don't think it will negatively. We've won 3 since then and thats always good for morale. A good cup run should be part of a bonus too.

Tbh Baker sounds like he's been one of the better players during our pre-season. Really hope he does well this year as he showed glimpses of really good play last year once he got going (nice way of saying he was terrible for the first third of the season). As for the comments, justified but...
