    Transfer Rumour #CARLBAKERDAY

Said it before, think Mike Petrasso would be well worth having back if Baker is not on our radar (depends on whether he has fully recovered from long term injury he picked up in pre season last year though). He could set up a lot of chances for us on the break if his pace is still there...

    Match Thread Barnsley Match Thread

Hope we sign Moorhouse tomorrow. Useful squad player to have (especially if Biamou gets injured) and will be keen to have an impact in English football.

    Forest Green next season then

Be interesting to sample the 'all vegan' catering there (as well trying to find the ground itself, though I've done quite a few country walks in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside close by...)

    Forest Green next season then

Excellent! I'll be there next season :)

    Yakubu

Starve the Yak and he will score... Anyway, talk about shutting the stable door after the horse has already bolted... we are already down folks, even if Yak has a positive impact and avoids injury all this signing will do is delay the inevitable (and provide our glorious owners with the line...

    Ponticelli

Don't understand the argument about 'it will dent his confidence'. Would get it if we were talking about a defender (e.g. Jack Finch was probably picked too early in his development), but not a striker. No doubt Slade will stick with Tudgay, but I'd pick Ponticelli as a sub at the very least.

    Willis gone, Exodus begins!

Pleased he's staying. Though there was little chance of red card being rescinded, think he was a bit unfortunate in that the Northampton player had his foot over the ball more than he did (Willis sliding in made the challenge look worse than it was).

    Willis gone, Exodus begins!

So top scorer Sordell sold, followed by next top scorer. Remember Jutkievicz was sold in Jan when we were fighting relegation from Championship too. I realise that we are already down this year (not mathematically, but realistically), but it seems that those in power are sanctioning sales which...

    Willis gone, Exodus begins!

So our leading goal scorer now is.... Errrm, maybe someone has managed to score 3 goals? (I honestly don't know!) Anyway, good luck to Willis (if he agrees personal terms with them) - with a decent experienced partner he could develop into a half decent central defender. Showed a lot of...

Favourite City goal you saw live

Obscure one this... Lloyd Mcgrath volley away to Tottenham when we lost 4-3 (when they had Lineker and Gascoigne). It was just so unexpected (he just swung his foot at it and hoped for the best) and we'd had so many 0-0s under Don Howe that our support just went mental. One of those days when...

    Ryan Haynes transfer bids

Woah... are we talking about the same player here, the one who often (very often) gifts the opposition a goal with an underhit back pass etc. ? What he also does though is (and this is rare in our current squad) he keeps his head up after making an error and sometimes creates a chance with a...

Match Thread Coventry v Fleetwood Match Thread - Saturday 21st Jan

I work with a lad who was at Bristol City as a 2nd year scholar last year - he mentioned about Wes Burns being the player who stood out the most in their Academy set up and that he was unlucky not to displace others from the first team. Really hope he's wrong on this one! Can see us playing...

    Relegation thread

It's amazing that some of us still think we have a chance to stay up after 2 points from the last 10 games... We are not cut adrift yet though. Beavon is a key player, if he can avoid injury and we get a more effective version of Dan Agyei in the transfer window, then we have a small chance...

    More players coming in...ideas?

Wonder why Mike Petrasso has fallen off the radar completely? Think he's still at QPR but is failing to break through there. I know RM is not as high priority as other areas, but with the pace of Reid and Petrasso on the wings we'd create a reasonable number of chances with them cutting the...

    Transfer Window Predictions

I think Sordell will be sold - remember that season when Jutkievicz (sp.?) was sold without Andy Thorne's consent? How to battle against relegation CCFC style: sell your top scorer.... Can see it happening because I think Sordell is still a half decent striker if given service (or not shunted...

    Kenny Jackett

Has resigned from Rotherham Possibly still based in midlands after spell at Wolves. Do you think he would consider taking the (thankless) task of managing us ? We could do far worse - he has the right kind of promotion experience. Bearing in mind that I think we'll sell Ben Stephenson soon...

So, who do we want ?

Good post. Cotterill was the 1st name that came into my head - he made shrewd loan signings as well as permanent ones (e.g. that tall striker from Fulham who scored some vital goals for them, Smith I think). Also got Burnley punching above their weight. He recognises players who are good in...

Match Thread Gillingham v Coventry Match Thread - Saturday 24th Sep

Agree with comments about Gadzhev being a big disappointment. We desperately need McCann and Rose back because we are getting over-run in midfield (though Rose will probably be played at RWB by TM) Mind you, if defence can't win first ball in the air it doesn't matter if midfield is more solid...

    Mowbray, Go or Stay?

Agree with Otis. Give him a bit more time. Mowbray said he'd only start looking at the table seriously after a dozen games, so that gives him 4 more games for us to show signs of improvement (that means a couple of wins, not creditable draws). I reckon we have got players who are unlucky not...
