    Scariest time at a ground.

3 games I remember recently where City fans have fought each other; Rotherham away, Crewe away, and Bolton away. All mad but the Bolton one, in particular, was crazy. Leaving the ground, a lad just brushed into another lad, and the kid just launched a massive punch at him. If he’d connected...

    Referee Analysis Millwall

To me that looked like a pen. When you saw the replay from behind the goal, you could see him move his arm towards the ball. But nobody seemed to make a fuss. I don’t want VAR but it would have resulted in a pen, I think.

    Referee Analysis Millwall

Yeh, ref was ok, let the game flow. Felt sorry for their defender getting sent off, as said earlier, think he was just knackered.

Blimey, don’t like the sound of that! Looks like we’re going to have to man up!

    Ryan Giles

Well, with respect, they must see something in him that you don’t, because four and a half years is some statement of their belief in him. And I do think he’s the only player we have who can run past a player. He’s not getting game time because McCallum’s taller, therefore better in the air, and...

    Match Thread Preston

I think Walker has shown enough that when fit he will score goals, but only if we create chances. I don’t think he plays the lone striker role that well, and if we can get them both fit at the same time, it will be interesting to see how he and Godden can play together. I think we’ll struggle...

    Match Thread Preston

I went mental when that goal went in (and that’s very unusual for me!) Preston we’re horrible that day, they were winning 1-0 and the time wasting was appalling, ball boys, the crowd, their Manager was Simon Grayson, says it all. He’s managing Kendal Town now. We really deserved that draw. The...

    Season Curtailment

The problem is what happens between now ant significant roll out of the vaccine. Two/three months when the virus could run amok.

    Season Curtailment

Just thinking the same myself. 40,000+ cases in the past 24 hours, another national lockdown (perhaps by another name) in the New Year. Football paused? Wouldn’t bet against it.

    Show us your Medals

Sorry, cocked that up a bit!🤬 I know he’s not always popular on this forum, but as we’ve been talking about the 60’s, it was great, at the time, to see a Cov kid tearing up the second division. This article taken from the Saturday Times.

    George Hudson passed away

Yep, Jimmy Hill used to regularly remind the players that they could set the mood in the car factories for the following week , by the way we played on the Saturday. I remember coming back into Cov station on Sky Blue Specials, and there were big signs saying ‘Welcome to Coventry, City of Skills...

    George Hudson passed away

Yes, I get the feeling he would be quite low key, a modest man, given his skill, a tremendous midfield player. Signed by Jimmy Hill (one of his first signings I think?) because ‘I liked his blue eyes’... Must have been interesting to chat to.

    George Hudson passed away

Too many of my boyhood heroes no longer with us, Ian Gibson, Ernie Machin, Ernie Hunt, and now George Hudson. 60’s Cov, a great period to live through, many good memories.

    George Hudson passed away

The first League game I saw, 6th April 1963, aged 7. Cov 5 Halifax 4, and yes, a debut hatrick for George. He was a hero, when Jimmy Hill sold him to Northampton, rumour had it that a couple of coaches of City fans went to Northampton to watch him. Maybe an urban myth, unless anyone knows...

    2 goals in 5 games

I agree, most of us would have taken this position nearly halfway through the season. I’m just a bit worried that we won’t be able to keep clean sheets indefinitely. You’re right about the tactics, that’s presumably why McCallum is getting the nod over Giles, stronger defensively(?) and...

    2 goals in 5 games

But, if we don’t score goals, how soon will it be that we start to lose games 1-0, as we did at Wednesday? We may stay up on 0-0 draws, if teams below us don’t get points, but a few goals and wins would help! We’ve had injuries which haven’t helped. We know that Godden can take chances, but...

    2 goals in 5 games

O’Hare made some really poor decisions when in good positions today, and hasn’t been particularly creative. Ryan Giles can run past players and has a sweet left foot. I would start him, and bring O’Hare on as an impact sub.

    Ratings v Stoke

I may be wrong here, but the impression I get is that you rarely comment on players, apart from Biamou, where you’re constantly looking to snipe. It’s a bit tiresome......
