Confirmed Signing Sidiki Chérif (Winger / Striker) (1 Viewer)

Cherif will get his chance vs Tottenham. As sub...like Simms.

But Awoniye starts.
I'm not so sure.

Easily the best performance from a striker for us this season. Would have been my MOTM if Thomas wasn't so immense. Got the penalty and a very good goal. Was a constant problem for Newcastle. What a way to introduce yourself to the Prem.

He is confident and ready to go. He certainly did enough to keep his place in the side.

I'm super positive for our future, we have some quality youngsters on the books. We won't get shafted by bigger teams in the transfer market.

We have removed that extra stepping stone, we don't need a middleman now we are in the Prem. When we sell it'll be for nuts money. Even if you go down relegated Prem teams can command a premium for anyone who has done ok, look at West Ham. And even players with potential can go for silly money like we had to pay for Tuna.
Speaking of Tuna, he wasn't in the squad Monday was he and not injured so what was the crack I wonder ?

Lampard says tactical

Odd one, I think he's looked ok so far, definitely enough to think he can develop.

Maybe it's just the workrate BTA adds and the physical presence EMC should bring (not shown it enough for me this season) that is making it hard to give Tuna a proper run.

Frank said he's felt bad for not picking Tats more so guess he is wrestling a bit with loyalty for the players that did so well last season, fair enough really. The season is long and demanding, players like Gboho and Tchaouna will get their chances. They need to make the most of them like Cherif has

Woukd seem harsh. But you have to make the right calls in football. Lampard will start with Awoniyi. He's dropped Simms many times when in a rich vein of form. The right thing then was to bring in Wright.

Just like the right thing now would be Awoniyi.

Lets get it right Tottenham away isn't going to be for the faint hearted.

And u dont give a f what anyone says I'm judging from my own eyes i think Awoniyi sending off was harsh to say the least.
Except that Wright went on a long barren run and wasn't really contributing overall either and Simms lost his mojo after being dropped after performing well and scoring regularly.

Must be very hard to decide who doesn't make the matchday squad. I think tats deserves a go after being so good for us the last couple of seasons. I agree that they will all get a chance as there will be injuries over the season.

It's time to start integrating the new players into the team. They've had long enough to get their fitness levels up to Prem standards and understand the way Lampard wants them to play.

We had some very good performances on Monday. The defence picks itself if going 4 ATB. If 5 then Mfuni slots straight in. If not I wouldn't be surprised to see him in midfield. He certainly has an eye for goal and would be an extra defender when under pressure.

I see Saka coming off the bench against tired legs. He has a big part to play, but I see him as more useful in the last 20 than the first 70.

We spent about £20m on Cherif and now we know why. I'll be surprised if he doesn't start against Spurs. Cherif, Mfuni and Rudoni running at them together would pull their defence apart. The next 3 games would give them the chance to score plenty of goals against sides with a slow start. Only 1 win between them and that was Sunderland beating Fulham.

A fair bit of over excitement in that post - Cherif,Rudoni & Mfuni aren't even fast players for one thing

You don't need pace to beat players, you need skill, over the years I've seen many players that are fast that haven't got the skill or the brains do beat their opponent.

It’s a binary thing. A player either has pace or doesn’t, one run can determine that.

Stats have Cherif as 4th fastest on pitch on Monday with Rudi 7th. Rudi was 2nd in distance coveted, he was much better than some of his previous performances, I was pleasantly surprised.

How can you be second in distance coveted?

"Oh, I wish I'd run 15k today"

I imagine Leicester players are first, as they all wish they were as far away from Leicester as possible.

Each player where’s a transponder which uses GPS to track how what distance they cover whilst on the pitch. So if the 32 players that featured, Rudi covered the second greatest distance (11.1km) behind Gonzalez who did 11.6 km

The football analysts love that sort of thing. BTA was 3rd most on 11km

I think you've missed the point of my post...
