Could be one we make a huge profit on if we stay up for a couple of years

£20m well spent and he will only get better with experience against top class players.James Richardson's podcast was raving about Cherif the other day . French jounro Julian Laurens was Hyping up with a talent he is
Long way to go before his all round game is like a drogba or Lukaku but at 19 he's in a very good place
I dunno man, we will see in time. Do you feel his overall performance that match was honestly that good? Missed a few howlers. He’s young and he will learn from it and hopefully turns out to be a good player but too early to say based on one game that he was probably a 7/10 onCould be one we make a huge profit on if we stay up for a couple of years
We’re not going to start playing him in midfield. We had some very good performances on Monday. The defence picks itself if going 4 ATB. If 5 then Mfuni slots straight in. If not I wouldn't be surprised to see him in midfield. He certainly has an eye for goal and would be an extra defender when under pressure.
Even if we do go down, at his age he’s the sort of player who’d stick around, IMO. He’d be lethal in the Championship.James Richardson's podcast was raving about Cherif the other day . French jounro Julian Laurens was Hyping up with a talent he is

I think he was good yes, great movement and reading of the game for his goal, he obviously won the penalty too, missed a sitter but I dont think he was expecting it to make it through and didnt set himself, great run in the first half where he was looking for Rudi but the pass was never on so he had to take it on himself, a performance like that every week and he will score plenty of goals, that’d justify a huge profit. He’s only 19 and will get better, I wont get carried away though… But Im sure he will be better than DrogbaI dunno man, we will see in time. 20 goals 20 goals for the Cherif 20 goals 20 goals I sayEven if we do go down, at his age he’s the sort of player who’d stick around, IMO. He’d be lethal in the Championship.
I'm glad you're so sure. We’re not going to start playing him in midfield.
I think we have to play him where Man City want him to play, for as long as they have any authority ;-) Other than the skill for his goal, the other impressive thing was how he generated such power with such little blacklift. The shot came so quickly the keeper had little time to reactI'm glad you're so sure.
Who do we drop out of Mfuni, Pinnock, Thomas and Amenda when all fit?
How about Mfuni saying that he hopes to play in midfield again in an interview?
I'm going to try to explain my thinking for the last time.
Mfuni is something special. He has the skills to play anywhere outfield on the pitch. Look at his goal. If it was a Messi goal it would have been a great goal. The control was very good and the finish even better. Agreed?
None of our defenders are running forward with the ball in the Prem. We can play JDS with 3 CB's and MVE in defence. We could have Mfuni as a floating extra CB who has the freedom of the pitch. When under pressure we would have 6 defenders but when attacking an extra player going forward. We have a lot of defending to do this season, but we also have to score goals.
You're welcome to pin your little flag to the pole that an 18 year old with hardly any mens experience will only ever play in defence. Myself and others nobody has taken a shot at think it could happen.
We will see as the season advances.
As I have said all along I think we will stay up. But if he continues like he did on his full Prem debut it could be hard to keep him if we stay up or not.Even if we do go down, at his age he’s the sort of player who’d stick around, IMO. He’d be lethal in the Championship.
Goalscorers are worth much more than plain CB's. Manchester City wouldn't exactly be unhappy if we shaped him into a goal scoring CB or even a player playing further up the pitch. He showed how good he was going forward at Watford last season until his injury.I think we have to play him where Man City want him to play, for as long as they have any authority ;-) Other than the skill for his goal, the other impressive thing was how he generated such power with such little blacklift. I’m pretty sure they were joking about him playing in midfield.I'm glad you're so sure.

I said at the time we couldn't be sure. But those who call out an 18 year old goalscoring CB without much experience in mens football as only ever being a CB are taking a shot in the dark. His goal wasn't luck. He beat the whole defence just like Cherif did.I’m pretty sure they were joking about him playing in midfield.

Goalscorers at the top level are quite rare and worth a fortune. The least valuable players are defenders and GK's. The most valuable are the creative players and goalscorers. He was brought on for Grimes to tighten up at the back near the end of the game but ended up at the wrong end of the pitch and scored a very good goal. Food for thought for Lampard.
A centre back that steps into midfield is plausible and suits his skill set.
So you've changed your mind now?Stick him up front then.
The first comment was serious, the second was flippant. People don’t concentrate on signing centre backs because they’re goalscorers. So you've changed your mind now?![]()
I think he has some sort of social awareness issue, so I understand why he didnt catch the flippant comment, even though I could see it was satiricalThe first comment was serious, the second was flippant. People don’t concentrate on signing centre backs because they’re goalscorers.

I look at Manzambi and I think this lad can be him and more in 2 years time.Could be one we make a huge profit on if we stay up for a couple of years
