The way the squad has been built is about 50/50 experience and young players with potential. If you remember in an interview last season about how CCFC are doing he compared the squad value in the transfer market when he bought the club and at the time of the interview. A lot of his focus was on having the squad value that made his investment worth it, it worked well at the lower level and that strategy remains in place. It's a similar to the way a few other premier league clubs operate but they've had a few years to get better at playing the market while retaining their place in the top league.
