Empty Seats

If you had give up trying to get a seat for our first top flight game at the CBS and then saw that you would have been furious!

Did anyone actually miss out though ? Tickets been available for over 2 weeks and we’re still available as late as Thursday.
By Brighton, ticket exchange will be sorted and everyone will be back from holiday .

The empty seats is nothing yet. As quick as everyones jumped on the bandwagon..Will be just as quick the other way if not quicker! Lol

Give it till Newcastle at home on Monday night on sky odficial attendance will be 28000

Will be actually 21000 in stadium.

It will have been small numbers, but a few would have been sold on the exchange, but get your point

Last season many of those seats would have been filled by friends and family of those that couldn't make it. The Good Friday game against Derby was nothing like yesterday and loads would have been away or working for that game.

Other clubs allow transfer to friends and family for a limited number of games, I think we should do something similar.

The 'bandwagon' has been building for 5-6 years. It's pretty much the same season ticket holders we've had for 3 seasons, who were turning up when we were near the bottom of the championship. They're all going to start bailing after 2 home defeats in the PL?

Nah its probably the same 1000s that left before injury time.

I know a few seats weren’t occupied because of ST holders being on holiday or not able to attend but that would be normal through the season. The large groups of 10 or more empty seats can’t possibly be for this reason. Lots of space near the half way is possibly tickets given to players for family and friends or other corporate hospitality. That’s the ones you see on the tv. The photo earlier on this thread of the NE corner didn’t look like that during the game because I was sat opposite and it seemed fuller. Was that photo taken near the end or near half time? There was also a large empty block at the bottom of the west stand next the away fans. The club will know what or who these blocks were allocated/sold to. I don’t think ticket transfers would have filled the large blocks of empty seats. Im guessing there were other reasons for that. Hopefully they will start ticket transfers soon🤞

Halfway line were unsold corporate seats. They were regularly full last season and many of those people have moved upstairs because of pricing, or relocated completely.

The block next to away fans (5) was corporate (that Haas package thing) but they didn't sell many and released a few of those for general sale a few days ago,. And that picture was exactly what I saw from block 11, in fact it looks fuller than it did yesterday in person. All told, it was a bit of a shitshow. It will be a lot better next game though.

Apologies. I thought the original photo was NE corner but it is NW. hadn’t noticed it was that bad.

As an aside, there were people with AMP hospitality lanyards (£660 for 2 people) finding their seats were in rows 1 and 2 of Block B where you get piss wet if it rains and a shit view. Not quite the experience promised.

It's the family zone seats isn't it.

Come Xmas we will be scraping 20,000 if we are getting bummed every week. People will get bored of going just to watch big clubs

But I thought we needed to increase capacity?!

They need to sort the transfer of tickets to members in your network and open the exchange earlier. When there are just a few tickets left they are often very high up, like row XX etc. If didn’t have a ST, I’d struggle with those SEATS accessibility wise but I would jump on exchange tickets lower down.

For my own curiosity just checked every other PL club. Crystal Palace require you to sign up to a special membership to enable forwarding at a cost of £50, everyone else offers it free of charge as far as I can see.

Not 100% certain on Hull. They don't seem to officially offer it but their tickets appear to be static QR codes that can be passed on.

Most clubs restrict to friends & family, some allow you to transfer outside of that group for an additional fee. Basically the difference between the pro-rata season ticket cost and the match day ticket cost.

The other thing they need to sort out is the phantom 'sold out' games on the website. There is no reason at all that games should appear as sold out and then a couple of hours later have a handful of tickets of available.

How many people go to the website, see sold out, and don't return?

The only thing they can be is tickets held back for guest list, in which case once we've got to that point open the exchange.

Also noticed other clubs let you mark your ticket for their exchange before they go on sale. So if you can't go to a game you can mark it as available for the exchange and then as soon as the game sells out and the exchange open your ticket is automatically listed.

how would people feel about a transfer fee for season tickets

e.g. standard zone, cat b match: 50-(625/19) = 17.1, so lets say £20 to transfer your ticket? Acceptable or no?

Prices are set too high. Big mistake it didn’t need to happen.

Lots won't put them on, quite rightly.
Me too - it’s my seat and if I can’t go and I can’t give it to a friend or family member then the seat will remain empty!!
Doug needs to get this sorted ASAP - the current system stinks!
Especially seeing game dates and times changed at a moments notice!

No.
Next question.
Other clubs do it, but they don't charge per ticket. You have to be a member..in our case it is 45 pound, priority access to tickets for games ( if you haven't a ST), 10 pc off shop, twice a year and a free gift. 20 pound per ticket is ridiculous.

We didn't officially sell out our first game in the PL in decades. Brighton looks like it's limping towards a sell out.

No doubt Man Utd, Liverpool etc will sell out but if results don't pick up and the ticket restrictions remain in place games like Brentford on a Wednesday night will be embarrassing.

As quickly as they turned up a lot of the new fans will start finding excuses not to come. We've been here before and we know how it plays out.

After all my shenanigans I went into on the season ticket thread my dad ended up not coming. Both our faults really but we didn’t have the time to meet up within the 17 hours between the tickets being sent out and kick off. So I forwarded him the email. It didn’t work on his phone. Couldn’t use the link in the email a second time to try and put it on my phone. Ticket office number was closed and he can barely walk so both of us couldn’t get to the ticket office on the day. So he ended up not going. Great start.
We are getting the cards next week.

All common sense though

When I logged on Friday it said it was sold out?

And that's exactly the problem. It says sold out, you go back later there will be 10 - 20 random tickets.

But people see sold out and don't go back. So the final tickets don't go and the exchange doesn't get opened.

Gotcha, point proven, i assumed when it said it was sold out then it was sold out. Quite wild that minutes later they are like haha not really and expect people to keep coming back to check

A bloke I was chatting to in the queue to get in wasn't happy about not being able to pass his seat to f&f and one of the guys in the row in front of my seat was unhappy about it too. I'd say the dissatisfaction is widespread.
