Pressley after tonights game..

"The group cant give me any more."
"They need help, we need help. "
"We need certain personal in. "
"Working to get the right strikers in."
"We were let down by an individual tonight, which is obvious"
"when you go from 2 top scorers to no strikers, its difficult"
"got support of the club to bring them in, but its difficult"
"Because of the Leon Clarke failure to support this group, we find ourselves with no strikers"
"Asking a lot of young George, but he will be a star for this club"
"It looks likely that Leon gets his wish. I am annoyed and this group have been let down. This club have helped him get where he is. There is a way to leave a club"

Just listened to Presley's interview and he's really pissed of with LCD.
It's obvious now that Leon refused to play tonight and is havering a negative impact on the team.
Get rid of the judas bastard and I hope he falls flat on his face at wolves

Don't even compare him with dion as he's not in the same league. Leon is a money grabbing journeyman who will get what he deserves in the end

Sky Blues top-scorer Leon Clarke not concerned by transfer talk

Coventry City marksman says he's focused on bagging 30-plus goals for club this season

Leon Clarke is backing himself to score at least 30 goals this season after taking his outstanding Coventry City tally 18 over the festive period.

The 28-year-old is likely to attract attention from a number of Championship clubs looking for a prolific striker in the current transfer window, testing the Sky Blues resolve as they aim to keep hold of him unless tempted by a ridiculous bid. But the player insists it’s business as usual as he looks to keep his goal spree going, saying: “I try not to pay too much attention to it. “I am just focused on doing well here and scoring goals, getting through the games and doing as well as I can.If someone puts a bid in and it’s an acceptable offer then it’s out of my hands.”

On the plus side, he says it’s probably the happiest period of his career, adding: “I was happy last season as well. It was disappointing when I had my ankle operation because I’d scored 21 goals, but to score 18 by the New Year is nice.

“The amount I can get between now and the end of the season is endless; it’s up to me to see how many I can get. I go into every game confident and I really feel I can get in the 30s, and that’s what I’m pushing for.”

If he refused to play and it was up to me I wouldn't pay him, he is paid to play football for this club not keep himself fit for whatever team he fancies moving to!

I certainly fine him everything I could within the law, thats for sure.

CWR said the physio stated the squad (apart from Wilson) was injury free after the arsenal game

Not sure if I can sleep tonight! Too much on my mind! The SS police have got to me! My conscience is overflowing with guilt! Fucking woe is me!

I did wonder during the Arsenal game whether he'd gone down 'injured' in the hope he'd be taken off and protect himself and whether SP had seen through this and told him that he's on until the end regardless.

He will be gone tomorrow then. Griffiths to Celtic, Clarke to Wolves...who the fook do we get? Regardless of tonight's performance, are we regretting not getting Dagnall in?

interesting to see SISU's stance on this.

I'll be surprised if they let Clarke call the shots.

Please stop bringing up the past that both players & fans had little or NO control over basically because of the financial situation and outside influences.

The past is the past and we can't change it but listen and support SP and his young bucks. PUSB!

Me too. The whole thing looked a bit staged to me. He was always going to be injured tonight IMO and may not play for us again....who knows.

Sounds like SP has had enough.

He wanted a whopping 18 month contract and we would only give him 6 months. Honestly don't know why, he would be fine in this division as the 3rd or 4th choice striker. It would have hardly have been a huge gamble

It's ridiculous. We needed a striker before this Clarke episode and before Wilson got injured. I cannot believe we are now in the position of playing a 16 year old kid as a striker and bringing on a centre back as a sub to go up top. From having the best strike force in the division to this in 3 weeks. It's ridiculous that we didn't get Dagnall in.

Live out contract as the water boy at Ryton....if SISU can turn down a rent free offer for the Ricoh and argue with the council / higgs as the do then lets see the full force on Leon.

Lets see if they are at least consistent with the negotiations !

Completely agree about Dagnall, did he not deserve an 18 month contract? Worked hard, decent technically, reminded me a lot of Elliot last year. Nothing special but certainly a third choice if you're playing 2 up top, one off the bench.

As for Leon, scumbag. Hope he goes to Wolves, we bring in a good replacement and he rots in the reserves when they go up in the Summer. Lazy prick anyway.

Also how bad is Slager if Pressley preferred Thomas over him tonight? Or just not match fit at all?
