U18/U21 Development Thread (5 Viewers)

If Batanwi stays fit and gets a good loan his potential is massive, every attribute to be a top pro is there. Id sign the lad up and get him a L2 loan, he is one to watch for me, if he stays upright.

Saw the recently released training video and he was quicker than the new Burnley lad and someone else during the sprints

Very athletic kid, hope the club are getting him tied down on a deal and then we have 4 real chances of kids stepping up In Andrews, Perry, Moore and him. So important we have these on pathways to 1st team football, the club needs the academy to produce players that lower league clubs will want to sign on loan and beyond. The benefits to the player and the club could be massive when used correctly the exposure the young players get is key to development of not only the player but the club.

Not being pessimistic but if we got relegated there is real potential at least Andrews and Perry could make up our Championship squad should they have good loans in L1 Next year

My opinion Batanwi is the best out the lot and i can see him starting at LB in the championship if he stays fit and has a season to league football. I know clubs are very keen on taking him off us and that is not good, he is a real talent.

If you have good young players teams are always looking to take them off you. It goes with the territory.

I do wonder what the plan is with him. I assume new contract and loan in the next few weeks, he must want to play footy though. Hes been commenting on Perrys move to Cambridge and as he didn't get a loan last year for whatever reason, I can't see him happy to be playing against Plymouth u21s again. Get him out on loan!
 
Hopefully Batanwi gets a good loan but with a mid season recall clause in case FL needs more bodies to boost an injury hit squad come the January window.
 
Anyone seen any u18 games this summer? There's a lad called Jacob Ogbonna just joined. Watching his progress keenly as I coached him for a couple of seasons recently. He's 16 and played in every position for us. The type of player you want 3 of, he was that good at any central position.

They're keeping it all very quiet. No one has seen Dausch this pre season, for example. And ive not seen di trolio since he got injured 14 months ago!

What's happened with Bell as well? Not heard anything of him for a while but pretty sure he was on the retained list.

Yeah another one. Injured is the rumour. I spotted him in the Rushworth meeting his old team mates video but only in the background.

Well he's 22 now so mostly involved in the senior squad. He was a registered player until January when he was removed to make way for the January signings. He really needs a loan if he's fit.

It has been a whirlwind 12 months for Jimmy, which saw him represent Eastbourne Borough Under 18s, Eastbourne Town at Senior level and Sussex Schoolboys. Most recently, Jimmy was selected to captain the England U18 Schoolboys team against Wales before embarking on a short trial period with Coventry City.

I see Kai Andrews and Harvey Broad both got credited with 2 asissts today for Oxford and Flyed

They had been winning 4-0 at one point.

Interesting that George shepherd is still featuring didn't we let him go recently or he left anyway, this is the lad who's dad played cov rugby 🏉.

Are you thinking of Rylie Siddall who went to America?

Shepherd signed a pro contract with us last season so why would we let him go so soon after?
