Might be a bit late with this but the follow on series from the Karate Kid films, called cobra Kai is a decent watch. A few nods to the original films ,some very good writing decent 80s soundtrack .

'The Boys' is excellent, got through two episodes. Its a slow burner like the first series but the plot is thickening again.

Over at the BBC maybe they are apologizing for the current series of Doctor Who by giving everyone a chance to watch the great BSG remake.

The boys, excellent. The Fall, excellent. Also recommend Bosch. The casting of Bosch is superb, captured the essence of the books well. Looking forward to Amazon's version of Jack Reacher. Of only because they've cast someone who actually looks like Reacher rather than a very short Tom Cruise.

I watched this, extremely cheesy in places, but that's in keeping with the original film. Enjoyed it on the whole, some good flashback bits, and I agree with you. The nods to the Karate Kid films were well done.

I've been watching 'Tales from the Loop' on Amazon. I'm not a big sci fi fan usually but this is an absolutely remarkable series. I cannot praise it enough. It's beautifully filmed and slow moving with realistic character development - just as I like it. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but for those that like that sort of thing it really hits the spot. I cannot recall liking any TV series more other than Dekalog.

Did you watch the first series of the Scandi Noire 'the killing' ?
That was the beauty of that series.

A bit late, but I've just got into a bit of the fishing thing with Whitehouse & Mortimer.........its wonderful.
I don't fish but would happily sit all day long on a river bank with these two. So funny, tranquil & relaxing......I can just let the world & its worries float away for 1/2 hr.

Binge watched series 2 of Ghosts. Very enjoyable and more like a proper old sitcom. Also a rarity in that it's one you could watch as a family. Only a couple of swear words and some 'Mrs Slocombe's Pussy' level double entrendre.

I'm a big fan of his stuff too. I met him back in February when he did an evening at a theatre in Stratford, one of the nicest, most genuine blokes you could hope to meet.
