What was our ‘lowest moment’? (1 Viewer)

For anybody who has experienced the past 25 years, Friday is going to feel extra sweet. Has got me thinking if this is our high what was our ultimate low? Many seem to reference the Yeovil or Accrington loss in league 2 or even the draw away to Barnet. Personally I would say either the loss away to Oxford in league 1 or away to Forest Green in league 2. Maybe some will argue Northampton was it irrespective of league position. Thoughts?
 
Forest Green away for me. One of the first away games I'd been to after my transplant.

Such a shitty, cold, wet day. Opposite of I was told not to do: keep warm, keep dry.

Walking up that hill. Felt shit too. Shit game.

I remember Swindon away I think in league 1 being horrendous and similar. No shelter, getting pelted with windy rain for 90 mins. Lost 1-0 with a goal in 80th min.

Yeah Northampton and that was depressing. No hope of any owner coming to save us without a stadium, Shit team. Support dwindling. Easy to forget that it felt we had no way back.
 
For me has to be the first game at Sixfields.

Genuinely awful time with all the protests going around and talks about a phoenix club. Factually would be league 2 but at least felt with Robins, we would do well

Northampton away when Willis got sent off was pretty bad, very toxic that day.

True, I think only point I would dispute was feeling we’d do well in league 2. Easy to say that now, but we had been without success for so long and Robins was’t who we know him to be now. Promotion never felt assured.
 
It might not technically have been our "lowest" moment but for me then one that felt like the biggest kick in the teeth was announcing that we were leaving Coventry for a second time to play in someone else's stadium (St Andrews). Having endured it once already, leaving the city again just felt like we were properly on the death spiral to oblivion.

To be honest after all the crap I’d of taken top half 🤣

But just felt after the cup, we were on the right path

For me, the 6-2 v Yeovil wasn't so much a low point, but a real 'WTF!?' moment. It was just the craziest game of football I've probably been too. At that point, iirc we were on track for playoffs, it felt like a minor setback.

Yeah, felt like a never ending cycle
 
My personal lowest moment following Coventry City came on December 4th 2016 - We lost 4-0 away at Cambridge who were a League below us at the time in the FA Cup having let Luke Berry, a central midfielder score all 4 goals against us, it was beyond doubt the worst most clueless performance I have ever seen a City side put in

Walking out of that ground (about 60 mins in) was the only time I have ever questioned my support for the club, I turned round to my dad and asked 'What is the point in all of this time, money and effort we waste on this club?' - I could have at that point happily not attended another game that season and the only reason I did was to A) Keep my dad company and B) Despite how shit we were I did enjoy the camaraderie of away matches back then

If you would have told me less than 10yrs later we would even be a Championship side, yet alone a Premier League one that day I would have put you in straight jacket myself

Yeah. Utterly blows my mind what we have come back from. People will say I have Coventry bias, but I stand by it being the most remarkable English league story. We wee not far off from being Bury.

The Sixfields and St Andrews moves were grim but we in both seasons had a team we could be proud of, they more than did their bit - We had some amazing away days in the Sixfields season and had it come to a proper ending the St Andrew's season would have only been topped by last season

16/17 was grim, we were appalling and people forget about quite how appalling we were because we won the Checkatrade, it annoys me that side got a Wembley day out because it wasn't really deserving of it, they disgraced themselves in the League

Pressley actually survived the Worcester game for 3 or 4 months - He did not leave us until mid Feb that season

He was ready to resign after the Worcester game though, but Fisher talked him out of it
 
Theres been a few.

Honorable mentions have to go to the Russell Slade era, the thrashing from Yeovil at home, Northampton away when Willis was sent off but for me the one that really sticks out in the memory.

The first game of the 13/14 season against Crawley away, the season we moved to Northampton. Still remember the anger of the thought we wouldnt be playing home games in Coventry, atmosphere was pretty toxic throughout and the fact we were playing Crawley who no disrespect should of been no where near our level. And we lost 3-2.

Ah sorry, misremembering that. Remember really liking Pressley as a manager. Shame how it ended

Slade was a clown and woefully out of his depth - But he did at least get us to Wembley before Robins took the reins and without that day I do not think the last few years pan out how they have

The Mark Venus stint in charge was 10x worse, odious man that he was

Ha. We were at that, but we were in the stand. Remember everyone singing, "We've got a roof..." at you poor lot in the rain.
 
Midweek away Vs Bury Feb 2017. We Lost 2-1 and Stuart Beavon (Beeevon to the announcer that night) scored for us. It was the day I realised that we were going into league 2 as we were outplayed by them.

Thereafter I accepted it and everything else was on the up from there on for me.
 
Barnet away for me. Clive Eakin referenced this game as his low point when he retired-a terrible goalless draw in League Two. Our next away game in North London seemed a long way off that day. Forest Green Rovers away was pure comedy really, Watching us lose standing in the rain at the side of not much more than a park pitch at the top of a hill next to a school somewhere in the Cotswolds.
 
Probably the bloke that ran on the pitch and had a go at the players, the whole club was a shambles and it was summed up by that moment as the players looked on pathetically as they were shouted at by a random bloke. Stewards couldn't even be bothered to fetch him, he just returned to his seat iirc. It was the turning point for us.
 
People might not remember it but Colchester away in that League 2 season, it was i think the third defeat on the spin and sent us into midtable and i think our lowest point. When i was monitoring that result coming through i genuinely remember just thinking we were done as a serious football club and we were just a League 2 club. The season was fucking horrible tbh and people just remember the end which adds something of a rosey tint to it.
