Luxury Gay Space

Good band name!

[Rodders1]

That home game against Everton

Was that the Kevin Campbell hattrick?

[wantageskyblue]

Steve Walsh at Watford anybody?

I was there, he was wretched. That was back in the day when you could just turn up on day of the match and sit in the half empty away section.

That home game against Everton

It was the first game of the season against Middlesbrough that I remember vividly- Boksic was just walking past him at one stage

[sharkymcphee]

Was that the Kevin Campbell hattrick?

I thought Campbell got his hat trick against us for Forest.

[Sky Blue Wozza]

Was that the Kevin Campbell hattrick?

No, that was against Forest in 1996. Right after Benfica had annihilated us in a pre-season friendly.

[Donato's Truncheon]

Was that the Kevin Campbell hattrick?

Can't remember specifically, just have a horrible memory of being in the West End and thinking at half time that we were by far the worst team in the world, with Hendry orchestrating the awfulness

Just looked it up, and I think it must have been the January 2001 3-1 home defeat.

[Cally Fedora]

i dont really get this at all

Yeah, I’m not surprised

[Shannerz]

No, that was against Forest in 1996. Right after Benfica had annihilated us in a pre-season friendly.

When the Ron Atkinson effect really started kicking in.

Must have been a tough deal to hash out between Tony Bloom and Tony Bloom

[SkyBlueSam01]

Dahl … left bank at Benfica ?

Pretty sure I signed him from Roma on FIFA to solve our perennial LB issue a few years ago...

Would mean Jose managed him at Roma and then brought him to Benfica? Would definitely be worth asking Jose's opinion on him in this case

[BerksSB]

He missed a lot last season through injury.

He looked past it when we played Spurs in the cup.

Didn’t see him going to Hull but fair play.

[Speedie's Head]

There seem to be rumours starting of interest in Simmo from the Championship.

[fernandopartridge]

It raises a valid point though. We are a very “nice” team. Grimes and Kitching have a bit of edge but apart from that we seem quite placid

do you not reember the game at southampton? half the squad were game for a scrap

Or Lati knocking Conway over

[fernandopartridge]

Or Thomas being sent off for whacking somebody

[Manchester_sky_blue]

Must be 2 in today surely? Cherif and A.N. Other

[robbiethemole]

Where has Harwood -Bellis gone?

Any fuckingwhere except here please

[Sky Blue Harry H]

Must be 2 in today surely? Cherif and A.N. Other

Cherif and Ishotda hopefully.

[Platnauer]

Cherif will be announced tomorrow I imagine. All the other business (sales & LB) will go into next week or Mon/Tue after Hull.

Rob Gurney stated on the BBC sounds clip to discuss Awoniyi, that Josh Tymon at Swansea was the LB they were after from Champ?

"Yes, yes.... But has he played for Swansea?"

I think I'm just not enthused by any Championship LB, but he did well and got in TOTS. One of my consistent issues with Dasilva has always been for someone who gets so high up the pitch so often, his final ball fucking stinks. Tymon is way more clinical in that regard and perhaps Lampard is looking at that, making every attack count.
Its a bit meh really on the face of it compared to most other signings but who am I to argue with Super Frank.

[Tea & Busquets]

Josh Tymon would definitely be an upgrade on Dasilva in my view but a very meh one. Also a bit sus defensively.

[Ccfcisparks]

Tymon would be thoroughly disappointing

[Deity]

Not every signing can be expensive and exciting.

I’d sooner invest the big money in the spine of the team as we have not in LB.

Yes we could be at the point where we need to be a bit more careful with our funds with more money going elsewhere. I think another CB is absolutely vital.

It doesnt need to be expensive. Its the fact hes only ever played 5 prem or top division games.
