Mark robins sounds very deflated regarding injuries allen sounds like he will be missing for a number of weeks now, playing down playoff chances due to lack of squad size/ quality which is a fair comment.
We always said this though didn't we? Or most of us did. The squad didn't have enough depth to carry us through.

That's quite decimating really isn't it. Sheaf, O'Hare, Palmer, Allen and Kelly.

Let’s wait until September 1st before we believe that shall we
I think the early signs are quite promising-there has been a substantive effort to move towards a more professional setup with respect to commercial as well as footballing activities. King's predecessors had totally lost interest and run out of money-whatever his motives are he is at least doing the basics which have been neglected for years.

Maguire, BNC and JWE wouldn't be here if we weren't desperate for pretty much anyone to bulk out the squad. No disrespect to them as players, they're very young and they will probably go on to have good careers, but in an ideal world we wouldn't have even looked at them

Slating on BNC and JWB is ridiculous imo. BNC has been pretty good in majority of games, yes he wasn't as effective tonight but he's been twice the player Dabo has been this season. JWB looked good in his 2 starts especially the Luton game. He's being asked to play a position he has no idea how to play because we have no other options. Cut them some slack. Both will be very good footballers

I didn't think Norton-Cuffy was awful tonight. Certainly wasn't great by any chalk and looked rather sluggish. Much more concerned about Wilson-Esbrand to be honest. He really has shown so little and it's a worry.

Seems pretty obvious that Robins rates BNC more, as he is getting much more game time.

Can't blame him, we're now basically down an entire midfield. Main thing is we have more than enough points on the board to start the planning for next season in this division

Still no idea on Palmer’s injury severity. Can’t believe CWR interviewer failed to ask Robins about that. Sheaf isn’t far away, but if Robins doesn’t fancy McGuire then we’ve got no attacking midfielders.

God knows what we'll do on Saturday with no AM available.

442 maybe?!
523 with Godden, Walker and Gyo all up top. Would probably be fine against Huddersfield, and then bring on Maguire for one of them in the second half.

Hamer into AM and Burroughs takes his place? We’d lose a bit with his passing from deep and energy to literally get everywhere.

Whatever happened to Bapaga? A few years ago he was thought to have a bright future. Presumably it's not going to happen now bearing in mind he appears to be nowhere near the squad despite all these injuries.

Gonna be a right tough game on Saturday with so many injuries and a fired up Huddersfield. Wonder if we do go 4 at the back with BNC and JWE as wingers, Sheaf and Hamer in Midfield with Vik and another up top

Wilson

Burroughs Mcnally Fadz Bidwell

BNC Hamer Eccles JWE

Vik (take your pick of Maguire, God or Walker)

Don't think we can play this same formation we have been with no Ohare Allen or Palmer avaliable. Unless Maguire can do it but doesn't seem like Robins really rates him

Unfortunately I think you're right. Seems a shame to use Hamer like this but I can't really see an option now.

Decent options but relies on 2 of them tracking back when out of possesion

It really is down to the bare bones now. That’s probably the least unsettling, in regards formation and personnel. Hopefully we get through Saturday (please God, no more injuries) and get a couple back for the next game.

Played yesterday for U/21s in a 2-0 win over Brum seems to be getting games lateley.

Seems every season these days we end up with a crisis in one position or another because of injuries. We rarely seem to get minor knocks. It's beyond frustrating.

When sheaf is fit we need to push Gus further up

We need him further back. I would get a front 3 of Godden and Gyo either side of Walker and use Hamer to spring counter attacks for them or for BNC/Burroughs to run onto.

For previously injury free players like Sheaf and Allen to have picked up muscle injuries like these shows how much strain this tiny squad is under.

I think sheaf and Kelly will be back for the home game in a weeks time.

Somethings gone on with McGuire if he isn’t getting a look in.

Agreed. Freak injuries as well, like O’Hare, considering he’d gone almost 2 years with nothing. Started the season as we meant to go on!
If Robins does go 3 up top I’d be surprised, but not against it.

Yes it's difficult. We saw against Wrexham what happens when you take Hamer out of that central role. I don't see him being anywhere near as effective as a no 10.

You put Walker in the middle as he is least inclined to do that. The other two can help press from the front and if Walker gets a chance he’ll probably put it away.

Hamer is able to launch attacks from deep and to drive the ball forward, so he can and should stay further back. Not an ideal system but I think the best we can do with who’s available

I predict we rush Kelly back to start on Saturday, with Hamer at AM.

Kelly's hamstring goes for the 21st time this season after 12 mins and Wilson-Esbrand plays another 80 mins at AM.

Decent point tonight. Neither side deserved to win.

Our next 6 games are against the current 22nd, 16th, 24th, 23rd, 17th and 15th placed sides. We haven't had this good a chance of the playoffs since the first season in the Championship.

Sheaf and Kelly should be back for hull

I can’t see us getting anything Saturday

we need that full week before hull to recoup some players and energy

And we are missing an entire midfield…
