I lost £200 in planned flights back to the uk, £120 in train tickets and £20 in a lft, next issue is shipping my laptop to my girlfriends so i can work from home, as i wont return to the uk now not until they scrap pcr testing and isolstion,

I read that and thought you'd said you'd lost £20 in a lift!

The value of your investment can go down as well as up.

Why won’t you return until after the PCR test? It’s probably going to cost just as much to ship your laptop, then you’ve got all the extra paperwork to go with doing so now and proving it’s not being shipped commercially.

Just curious after reading this article .
Are there any sixty+or 50+ not had there booster by the coming weekend.
Not being judgemental around this at all just wondering about the delivery methodology.
In the article it says he will have it by this coming weekend at age.

I would make sure you check out the customs clearance stuff for your laptop before sending it as you may end up with charges for posting it out.

It's just I've seen posts on here waiting until mid or late December.
Maybe it's related to getting it earlier from the outset as I think there became a bit of a free for all going on re sticking to the orderly British que I know some in my family advanced themselves when the option arose to online.

I’m only just 50 but could have had my booster

One thing I've noticed is how many international lovers we have on here finding girlfriends from abroad.
I have literally had 2 English girlfriends in 22 years and one of them was actually born in India.
I like to think I live up to my pseudonym on here quite well.

Saw one of the South African doctors who identified the strain on the news earlier and she was saying that the cases she had seen were mild symptoms. If that’s the case for all this has the possibility to be good news. Time will tell but fingers crossed.
What I don't get is how they describe it as running rampant when it was 59 cases from one region according to another statement given out.

Unsurprisingly some of the media coverage has been more than a little OTT !!! I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure I heard that it’s not as if in these regions the new variant had a significant amount of delta variant to compete against so nobody know if it’s sufficiently more transmissible to take control here.

Also, as Tony mentions above, they don’t whether the symptoms are more serious (nothing to suggest so at the moment but early days), or whether the vaccines and/or natural immunity provide protection and/or slow transmission. Just too early to tell

Ive got no issue with the precautions taken but hopefully there’s no need to panic just yet

Ps bit of better news, Covid inpatients in England is below 6k after peaking at around 7.5k start of Nov. At least partially booster jab effect I’m guessing 🤞

Yeah caution, find out better than our previous wait and see - CARNAGE for sure. Although as an aside, government advice was wear a mask on a crowded train or supermarket anyway, so it shouldn't be much different really(!)

Personally hate wearing a mask but if needs must and that's all we're being asked to do rather than have other things taken away or spoiled then I'll take it

Because its over taking delta variant in their sequencing sjowing its more transmissible than delta,

Looks like Secondary students will be asked to wear masks in communal areas from tomorrow.
