Always suspected the council were very guilty in this whole debacle. - hopefully this kind of PR will make them pull their finger out in being proactive in helping CCFC find a new home.

For me though, all parties ducking over CCFC is obvs because of the way that CCFC approached trying to get matchday revenues - I assume they were bullish and upfront about threats of a potential move from the Ricoh to Northampton pretty early on, prior to 2012.

Many of us over the years have said CCC had a large dollop of culpability in our downfall, but many on here just told us we were "SISU apologists". I wonder what their angle will be now this has come out.

They will just try the same and hope it sticks. People at the trust have hidden behind those types shouting that as well. Anybody questions them send out the people shouting on the payroll.

Quite frankly, if I lived in Coventry I would be working out some way of giving that council a damn hard time or collectively with many many others trying to organise a withholding of council tax until they start to make amends towards their own Cities club and stop favouring an out of town franchise club from High fucking Wycombe.

i never liked sisu, think they are bad owners. I even thought bad of them in regards the whole rent/cobblers move. But I also felt the ccc wasps sale was not right. I can honestly say reading the sisu letter now, I have changed my opinion. They have dealt with some shit underhand dealings, it’s a shame they wasn’t as up front a few years ago maybe they would have had support, I assume they couldn’t be. The whole thing is a fucking disgrace and the so called fans who helped in the cover up and shafting of my club, (because st the end of the day it is my club getting fucked over) May as well get stuffed and go support someone else. My wish, wasps give us a rental agreement sisu build this ground they say they are trying and we move out the Ricoh as soon as we can. The bit about the boardroom and some corporate boxes being unavailable to us as a club!!!! Wtf

I think it was the Fleetwood game, club were given 2 days’ notice that none of the boxes were available. We got an email about it the Monday morning.

Edit:....aaaand I’ve just seen the Wasps statement which is a pack of lies.

To be honest, someone needs to flag this statement with Henry Winter. He’s always going on about how SISU are terrible owners, maybe he’d take up their side of the story considering there’s evidence provided to back it up.

every reply so far has been pro council from you ffs good faith lmao

I post balance because no one else actually puts a modicum of thought into things.

I wish I wasn’t the only person not frothing at the mouth at the mention of them, but here I am. Someone with a working brain and a vague knowledge of council responsibilities.

Come into a thread about the city centre if you want to see me slating the Council. I just don’t think local authorities are there to put football clubs, especially overly litigious football clubs who have a track record of fucking people over, ahead of social care and the actual legal responsibilities they have.

I’ve got to say, so far when we’ve got past the initial ranty stage, I’ve generally been right at every turn. I remember Nick, Grendel, you and FP telling me years ago how the Council were going to be “found out” and how there was “smoking guns” when we got to court. So far, so much bullshit.

It’s OK though, you can keep being right about football ;)

Les Reid is fired up
Les Reid said:
How will council leader Duggins explain, with docs revealing council / ACL et al plots to block CCFC progress under misguided notions they could wrest control of club? Officers briefed gullible editors in Jan 2013 the bank buyout/ACL bailout would see Sisu out in weeks & Cov Tel @live_coventry editors inc current ed agreed to @coventrycc council's request to suppress any news of this secret Ricoh bailout till it was signed. They believed Sisu would be out in weeks! 'Gamechanger' screamed headline.
I wrote this in 2016 Lies, boycotts and Trumpification in Coventry City row – show us the plan
Phil Upton said:
They must have known all this would 'out' in the end? In the meantime, still no idea where #CCFC will play next season as Sky Sports claims 5 EFL teams set to offer groundshare terms!
Les Reid said:
I wrote to CT / @live_coventry ed in 2013 saying he’d be accused of colluding in cover-up with council on @coventry_city. CT wanted me to sign gagging clause after investigator threw out false charges such as a Simon Gilbert-named doc which carried ‘PWKH’ lies I was on Sisu payroll.
I may well publish more docs in time to show more about CT / @live_coventry collusion with @coventycc council on #CCFC Ricoh dispute. I signed a unique @NUJ backed agreement with CT which protected my right as journalist to expose in public interest & prevent public being misled.

In my "Guilty as Charged" league table SISU have always been bottom ,10 points adrift, but over the last few weeks they've gone on a bit of a run and are now level on points with CCC.

Nothing to see here says Fisherbaiter. Anybody really want these dullards anywhere near CCFC?
I assume Coventry United didn't, hence he and David Johnson stopped being directors after the change from cov city ladies.

The trust want them near them though for some reason?

Did he actually say nothing to see?

Come off it, where in the Council's responsibilities was attempting to buyout an out of town rugby club to bring it to the city?

You have been right at every turn? Is that the selective memory again? I had to inform you of something most people knew least week.

Feel free to point out where I've ever said anything about smoking guns when it gets to court.

Good to see you play the social care line, what did the charity do that the council were found to have run a witch hunt against?

You talk about frothing at the mouth... but can you blame it? A number of people have been saying for years why haven’t the council been pressured?

Why were they put down constantly, if this come out years back we wouldn’t have needed too. It’s all well and good being SISU out but it’s hardly balance when everyone gets a free ride

Can somebody clarify the rent strike and when it was said to have started? I've seen people saying the rent strike meant ACL had to talk about wasps for the money but I'm sure that email was before.

Also, did acl get paid the 800k or not from escrow?

Apparently the telegraph are checking with their lawyers as to whether they can publish documents.

Of course they are, it's not a comms person at the council to ask how to approach it...Not at all.
The documents are already in the public domain so surely no problem for the cob tel to publish?

If they just linked to ccfc site as well it would have got round it. Its clear they are waiting to be told how to approach it.

They have already included wasps words on one of them.
