Robins has signed forwards who don’t score goals. He’s banked his career here on Chaplin

Doyle must pick himself as robins indicated

Andreu is a waste of space

I still and always have believed this is a lower mid table side and that’s where we will end up

Yeah, crazy, Husband shouldn't have been on the pitch because Thomas had frustrated so much. If we'd kept running at him he'd definitely have walked. Thomas is our best player, despite his frustrating lack of end product.

We see teams do it with Doyle all the time, wind him up and take him out the game. As soon as Doyle gets booked he may as well sit on the sideline with no replacement.

He got away with it time and time again, why weren't we in his face? Why weren't we getting somebody to smash him to get a reaction to get him sent off? Why weren't we putting the ball on Thomas every time?

We’ve got to find some way out of this deal to sign Chaplin in January, lost patience with him weeks ago and not sure how much of him I can put up with, yes he’s won us points with the odd goal but he’s lost us just as many points surely with his misses.

No doubt they’ll be people on here tonight saying we should give him more time but if weren’t serious about this play off chase then we can’t give him much more chance before we leg him off.
You get a like there for the phrase 'leg him off'

It's getting poor now. Keep making excuses for cup line ups or whatever but we are failing right now. Hiwula, JCH, Bakayoko, Chaplin......failing ! Sloppy goals, shit keeper as a rule, weak midfield. Things can change quickly of course but right now we are slipping badly.

I think Chaplin will come good but not as prolific as some expected, he hasn’t played consistently and is only 21.

Think the scapegoating of Chaplin is wankerish. Yes he missed the pen but he was involved in most of our decent bits of football. Same simpletons who had it in for McNulty.

I'm not sure, McNulty had more about him.

Chaplin also missed the sitter that Thomas put on him.

Very poor second half. Although quite a few of that team couldn't argue if they were dropped next game with the weekend off by the time we play again it'll have been forgotten a bit and MR will get away with picking the same lot again.

Be interesting to hear MR's comments after the game - if Baka had had the game Chaplin just had he'd be tearing him a new one.

Husband should've gone at least twice in that game and the ref bottled it, but as has been mentioned we should've been getting Thomas to terrorise him constantly instead of sporadically.

Still laughing at posters who said a lot of the new signings were shite?
Never laughed at anyone, but you and I both know some posters dismissed players after just 2 or 3 games.

Are you now telling me they were fantastic judges of character?

You simply cannot judge a player just on a couple of appearances and declare them to be crap full stop.

The problem is he’s been signed for a big fee by our standards.

Robins has hung his hat on him and he’s s development player really.

Why robins spent nearly a million on him, Hiwula and Bakayoko should be questioned.

He has a good touch. He clearly has a lot of potential but he's not doing it. I think he's similar to Bakayoko where he needs time to develop and we are overpaying for him. For 500k at this level you'd hope for someone a bit more rounded.

Pretty much every game this season can be summed up with

"we should've been 2 or 3 up by half time but didn't make chances count and ended up losing or drawing late"

We’ve won several games in the last 5 minutes

Totally agree. It's all a bit silly.

Thomas has been incredibly wasteful with som absolutely fantastic chances this season. JCH has been wasteful and Hiwula, especially wasteful too.

It's a shared problem and we can't just point the finger at Conor Chaplin.

None as clear as a penalty or Chaplin's in the first half.

Hiwula's chance in the first half was golden,GOLDEN. Watch it back again. it's unbelievable. 5 yards out, keeper at near post, whole of the goal open and he closes his eyes and laces it straight down his throat

Why doesn't jch put it about on the pitch a bit? He's a big unit, he's all about being gangsta yet doesn't come across like that at all to watch him play football.

Luke Thomas gets more stuck in.

I reckon....

Baka has potential to be a good signing for us so wouldn’t write him off just yet.

Chaplin is one for the future.

Hiwula has no bastard potential!!

It should. Non of them have proved to be of anything like their supposed worth so far.

If they are work in progress, then fine, but three of them all at the same time?

Chaplin ‘needs time’ that we haven’t got if we want to push for the playoff spots. We need a striker in the first team that can convert when the opportunities arise. We can’t expect to make a push if we’re affording a project player a first team spot. That said, we don’t have a proven striker in the squad....and it’s not because MR wasn’t backed.

How much time though? That's the thing.

Clarke Harris was far far far far worse than Chaplin.

Bakayoko did more on Friday that jch has done for a few games. Robins doesn't seem to like him.

Chaplin went low wich I guess they are taught to do. Keepers pulled off a worldie. From 5 yards he's stuck his boot out and flciked it wide. Yes CC should score but he's been taught to go low I imagine. Which brings me to his penalty...

Yep, McNulty was playing well but it just wasn't running for him. Biamou helped McNulty no end when he came in though.

Biamou featured in the vast majority of the first 18 games of the season

What do you mean “when he came in?”

Has he ever created one assist for mcnulty? He only has 3 in his career
